1982 Camaro Z28 **no Reserve** on 2040-cars
Carbon Hill, Ohio, United States
Hi, I have a 1982 Camaro that I purchased from a bank that had to repo it due to a bankruptcy. When I purchased it, I took a chance of knowing nothing about it, Nothing at all, Didn't even know if it would start. After getting it home and doing some tinkering I was quite pleased to hear it fire up. It has a small block that sounds real good (don't know any specs). It also has a 400 Turbo that seems to work just fine. I have had the car to a few cruise ins and it gets a lot of attention. Drives and handles great. I made a video with my phone and will load it on here so you can hear it running. The car still has a 10 bolt rear end and probably stock gears. It still needs a headliner and the shifter needs adjusted because it wont go all the way back to 1st and 2nd but shifts fine in drive. I never really tried racing it or getting into it much anyway so I just cruised in drive. All the heater, air conditioning and wipers have been deleted. Door handles and gas door have been shaved. I have a clear Ohio title in my name. All the gages are not hooked up except the tach. The tires look new. Please ask any questions you have and I'll try to answer them if I can. This is a no reserve auction and the highest bidder will win this Camaro!!!

There once was a time when Daewoo was one of the biggest companies in South Korea. It was larger than both LG and Samsung, and second only to Hyundai. But these days the name is all but gone.
Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows
Wed, 13 Mar 2013While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.
Next-gen Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra may use carbon fiber
Thu, Dec 7 2017It's been generally accepted that the next generation of full-size GM trucks will use some sort of strong, lightweight material for the beds while retaining steel for the cab. While aluminum seems like the most obvious choice, according to Automotive News, the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra will incorporate both aluminum and carbon fiber in their beds. The publication cites sources from within GM, though it seems the introduction of this comparatively exotic material mix is still a few years off. While carbon fiber is both stronger and lighter than steel and aluminum, it takes significantly more time and money to produce, essentially relegating the material to small-volume cars. The main benefit for trucks is the resulting reduction in weight to improve fuel economy without sacrificing the tough, rugged capabilities truck buyers expect. The Ford F-150 made the switch to aluminum for the 2015 model year and it's proved highly successful. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the competition followed suit. Automotive News says that the next-gen trucks will launch with aluminum beds and that it will take a couple of years before we'll see any carbon fiber incorporated into the design. Even then, only look for the composite material on higher-trim models, with a trickle down to lower-spec trucks possible further in the future. In 2011, GM announced it was working with Japan-based Teijin Limited on a carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic. There's a good chance that material's introduction will be on trucks.
