1981 Camaro Z28 This is a beautiful Camaro Z28 from 1981 - the last year of this body style before they switched to the sleeker and boxier third-generation body. While the seventies and eighties were not good years to remember, they produced some of the more outrageous designs to come from General Motors. This Camaro is no exception. This Camaro may be from 1981 but it has plenty of updates to keep up with the latest. Powered by a built 383 stroker and an automatic, anyone can drive this car and enjoy it. Power is sent to the 10-bolt out back while disc brakes up front and drum brakes out back will bring this car safely to a halt. The front wheels are 17” Coys while the rear ones are 18”. The interior is one of the strongest talking points of the car itself, with Ostrich vinyl bucket seats, rear bench seat, and door panels. The car also has a roll cage installed to keep the occupants safe. The dashboard is modified with aftermarket gauges and a switch. The paint job isn’t quite the show-winning paint job, but it’s great for a driver, with a deep black paint job and that two-tone tan “Z28” graphic that runs from the front of the car along the bottom side of the car is part of what made these cars great during the seventies and eighties. The hood is a fiberglass cowl-induction style hood that is held on by four pins. If you have any questions about this Camaro, please feel free to message us on here or call the store at 682.323.4812. We’ll be glad to answer any questions you have about this car. Also, be aware that the car is for sale locally, so the auction could end at any time should a local sale be made. Thank you for looking and happy bidding! |

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
GM says hybrid Corvette no laughing matter [w/poll]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013When Mark Reuss was in LA recently, he sat down to have a few words with the scribes at the Los Angeles Times. When the issue of a hybrid Corvette came up, Reuss answered with "Don't laugh." The General Motors president is a complete fan of the possibility, calling it "attractive" and "really fun," believing it would improve GM expertise and that "people would love it."
Naturally, the president being supportive of an idea doesn't give indication that a hybrid Corvette is on the way. However, with supercars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and Ferrari LaFerrari giving hybrid tech a solid, if remote, place in the performance car world, the inexorable trickle-down of technology means we shouldn't be surprised if and when it does happen.
And now that we have that non-negative half-answer to a speculative question, it would be irresponsible for us not to commence rumormilling for the C8 Corvette. Taking Reuss at his word, the C8 will obviously be a hybrid with all-wheel-drive - the left side wheels driven with electric motors, the right side with the mid-mounted, four-cylinder diesel engine. With coefficient of drag of just .16, figure on a 0-to-60 mile-per-hour time of under 2 seconds and an all-electric range of something like 30 miles at top speed. Don't forget, folks, you read it here first.
