1979 4 Speed Camaro Z28 406 Small Block 3.73 Axle Ratio Red With Black Interior on 2040-cars

US $21,500.00
Year:1979 Mileage:71993
Location:

New Haven, Michigan, United States

New Haven, Michigan, United States

I purchased this car as a roller, previous owner had intended to make a pro touring and had sold off engine and trans then lost interest.
I am a master certified ase technician since 1980, also the year of the first f body I purchased, probably 20 f bodys since 1980
It took a lot of parts from 3 different vehicles, 1979 truck for engine, 1979 trans am for super t10, 1978 f body for all brackets and under hood items.
Engine is a .030 over 400 small block truck engine with a mild cam, holley 1850 carb, starter and alternator rebuilt at local shop
Trans super t10 was opened up and inspected, 11 inch bellhousing and pressure plate. New flywheel
Many new parts Windshield, Aluminum Radiator, Headers, H pipe Exhaust, Carpet, Sof seal door seals, brake lines, fuel lines, etc
Rear axle posi 3.73 ratio
All a/c parts have been reinstalled but have not been charged with freon
Car has a near flawless paint job with great attention to detail
Interior minor signs of wear passenger seat has about a 3/4 inch spot on bottom
The last time i drove vehicle radio was cutting out at time but will include another same radio
As I said in beginning of listing I have had many fbodys and this is the cleanest in 30 years, cleaner than my keeper. I don't know much history of this car but can tell is has had high end work done to body it seems like its all metal. The right 1/4 panel has had some work because the pinch weld is not a factory weld. The body is straight an gets all the compliments when seen. All pinch welds including lower doors are clean, trunk is solid, no spare tire or jack.
I like it but get mixed views on steering wheel it has a Trans Am steering wheel with a z28 cap in center, tilt column.
Car drives straight down the road, tight, has had an alignment.
I don't have enough documents or history but tend to believe by the condition of this car that the mileage is correct.
Please call with questions I just sold another car and asked the buyer if my description of vehicle was good and accurate and he said yes. Its hard to list everything so call.
please contact to ask questions Ken 586-382-1356
Vehicle is for sale local and reserve the right to end auction early.
I don't get involved with shipping, I will make myself and car available if buyer makes all shipping arrangements.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
