RESERVE LOWERED TO $11,000!  1968 Chevy Camaro RS.  I've owned this vehicle for 17 years and have partially restored it.  It runs and sounds great.  Body is very solid!  The following things were replaced:  inside and outside rear fender wells, rear quarter panels, new trunk and shock towers.  New floor pans, exterior door skins, rear valance, front lower valance.  I have the RS emblems, have not installed them yet.  I also have the drivers side mirror and interior rail weather stripping, have not installed yet.  Front grill and trim and bezels 2005.  Have emblems but have not installed.  New gas tank and sending unit, gauge doesn't work.  Front and rear RS backup lamp housings and lamps.  All new floor pans as well.  Body bushings replaced.  Has no rust.  It's been garage kept since metal work was done.  Exhaust system all new around 2007.  New carpet and spoiler.   Less than 500 miles on rebuilt transmission in 2007.  New dual exhaust from the block out.  Paint job in 2006.  350 4 bolt main, runs great.   Tires are in fair condition, rims are Chevy Rallies off a Corvette.  I didn't get to the upholstery and the headliner.  The heater doesn't work, have never looked into it, there is no radio but dash is still stock and will hold the original size radio.  Hideaway headlights have not been wired since I've owned it, you have to open them by hand.  Headlights, turn signals, brake lights etc, all work.   Windshield wipers work fine, windows all work.  Exterior is yellow, interior is black/yellow.  Not a lot left to finish but just don't have the time anymore.  Looks beautiful, fun to drive, sounds fantastic!.  If you have any questions or I have forgot anything, please ask.  Winner must contact within 48 hours of end of auction to arrange pickup.  Have title in hand, buyer responsible for shipping if necessary.  Located 20 minutes south of Indianapolis.

Camaro spy shots show subtly different grille, front fascia

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

It looks like there some changes in store for the Chevrolet Camaro - the only thing is that we just don't know what Chevy has up its sleeve. Looking at these spy shots, we'd initially be inclined to think that there is just a minor facelift or a new special edition, but upon closer inspection, there are a few oddities about this car that definitely have us intrigued.
The most obvious difference on this prototype is the slightly restyled front fascia with a smaller lower air inlet and the two-bar grille. Then we get to some of the car's mysterious details. For starters, this fascia has the SS vent above the grille, but it looks to be blocked off. Granted this could just be a one-off piece used for testing. What really piqued our interest was at the rear of the car where it has quad exhaust outlets that are used on the ZL1. Could this be the LS7-powered Camaro that we reported on back in December?
At this point, your guess is as good as ours as to what we're looking at here, so let us know in the comments what you think this could be.

GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series

Thu, 31 Oct 2013

During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
