1970 Chevrolet K20 4x4 Truck Rust Free C10 Cheyenne Chevy 4 Speed on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:90000
Location:

Letting my factory 1970 Chevrolet 3/4 ton K20 4x4 go. Factory V8/4 Speed truck. I've had the truck about a year and it is in mostly original condition.  Never lifted or modified.  Just a nice old solid 4x4 and they are getting harder to find.  Looking to make room for a new project and pay some bills.  That being said I may entertain a trade.

Paint/Body- 100% rust free.  Truck is extremely solid for a 69-72.  Roof and rain gutters are excellent.  Floors, cab corners and kick panels are solid.  Cowl area is clean.  Bed floor and front panel are straight and rust free.  I have looked for bubbles, rust or heavy bondo and have not found any.  Truck has had the rockers and two of the cab supports replaced in the past.  Paint is nice and body is very straight.  Has two small dings by the cab light.  Bed is coated with a rhino liner but, is damaged in some areas and inner wheel well have some dents.  Glass is all good except the windshield.  Glass company cracked it during install.  Firewall and interior retain original paint and chalk markings.  The weatherstripping in the door jambs and window felts are all new.  New door handles, bumper, tailgate trim, tail lamp lenses,  NOS grille inner and outer. Tailgate is mint.  No dents or rust.

Suspension/Wheels/Tires-Truck has very rare 16.5x8.75 wheels. It took me forever to find these and they look absolutely killer. They were painted the same white as the cab top and rear bumper. Has very nice Cooper 33x12.50's mounted on them. I have the factory rear caps installed and may have the fronts by end of auction.  Truck has front power disc brakes and power steering.  New warn locking hubs. 4.10 axles.  Absolute stump puller.  Frame was coated with POR15 and underside of bed was coated with bedliner.  Overall the underside is pretty clean.  The rear leafs have helper springs installed and the truck has a very stout stance.  Drives down the road like an old 4x4.  Has a little play in the steering but, I've driven much newer trucks that have the same play.

Engine/Transmission-Truck has a V8 engine out of an 80's Van.  Runs strong.  Edelbrock intake and carb. Rams horn exhaust manifolds.  High energy ignition.  New starter, battery, battery cables.  SM465 4 speed transmission. NP205 transfer case is gear driven not chain.  Sounds good but, if I were to keep it I would change the exhaust out for something quieter and ran all the way out the back.

Interior-Not much to say here. Original paint on the inside of the cab.  The inside of the doors have been resprayed and look good.  Rubber mat does not fit well and I would replace with a better one if I were to keep it.  Dash pad and sun visors are excellent.  New dash bezel and lense, new shift boots, brake pedal covers, white arm rest, radio delete plate. Seat has been recovered with a factory houndstooth cover and new foam.  The dash lights work but, most of the factory gauges still need to be hooked up.

Overall a nice solid 3/4 ton  K20.  These are hard to find in any condition and this one has a great look with the color combo.  Willing to look at trades and I will assist in shipping this truck anywhere.  Clear title in my name.  $500 deposit required  within 24 hours.  Full payment within 5 days.  Can store the truck as long as it is paid for.  Sold as is where is.   photo IMG_1784_zpsd95c0c50.jpg photo IMG_1766_zps5499e52c.jpg photo IMG_1767_zpse33cb123.jpg photo IMG_1768_zps07bbc1d5.jpg photo IMG_1774_zps1e0f730a.jpg photo IMG_1785_zps2c26d867.jpg photo IMG_1794_zps17c1effd.jpg photo IMG_1792_zps787f9bb5.jpg photo IMG_1791_zps737bc2bb.jpg photo IMG_1790_zps23892d77.jpg photo IMG_1765_zps5ab28d6c.jpg photo IMG_1758_zps7067bea0.jpg photo IMG_1752_zps1afdbbd2.jpg photo IMG_1751_zps0ac80d39.jpg photo IMG_1750_zps06485c91.jpg photo IMG_1749_zps36fd1f35.jpg photo IMG_1748_zps4051be8d.jpg photo IMG_1747_zpsce6a3500.jpg photo IMG_1741_zps7a465eca.jpg photo IMG_1740_zps408769ab.jpg photo IMG_1739_zps7998e86c.jpg photo IMG_1737_zps537a51f1.jpg photo IMG_1742_zps22dd6670.jpg photo IMG_1760_zpsfa5bb37f.jpg photo IMG_1761_zpsccd31f73.jpg photo IMG_1763_zps955f14af.jpg photo IMG_1764_zpsf71532be.jpg photo IMG_1770_zpsbdfd66f7.jpg photo IMG_1772_zps1b04e7e7.jpg photo IMG_1781_zps7a877d5d.jpg photo IMG_1780_zps4e830161.jpg photo IMG_1779_zps9bb0b5a3.jpg photo IMG_1778_zps18d714ed.jpg photo IMG_1777_zpscc8cfc5a.jpg photo IMG_1776_zps501e0cfb.jpg photo IMG_1789_zps9d842dfe.jpg photo IMG_1787_zps6275fbb7.jpg photo IMG_1759_zps83b765b5.jpg photo IMG_1757_zps8636bdf7.jpg photo IMG_1756_zps73fdecc9.jpg photo IMG_1755_zps2bf3f1e4.jpg photo IMG_1753_zpsd89fc533.jpg photo IMG_1735_zps14768e43.jpg photo IMG_1733_zps7bebf288.jpg photo IMG_1732_zpsb9cd25a0.jpg photo IMG_1730_zpsbbb1ee96.jpg photo IMG_1729_zps6289e571.jpg photo IMG_1743_zpsc921bb4e.jpg

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
