I bought this 86 Chevy 4x4 in March of 2012 for the soul purpose to restore and enhance it to better than new specs. It had a rust free body when I bought it, but had a few dents and dings nothing major. I stripped it down to almost nothing and started building back all new. The truck now has a 69 model 427 making around 600 HP. Carb is a Holly Street Avenger 900. K&N air cleaner, Pacesetter headers, BE COOL radiator and aluminum pulley's, Chrome alternator. Everything under the hood is new. The transmission is the factory 4 speed with a center-force clutch and flywheel. The front and rear differentials are factory with new seals and gaskets 373 gear is whats in them. The suspension is completely redone with a 8 inch all spring BDS lift. Stainless extended brake lines new brakes and new cross drilled and slotted rotors. The wheels are KMC XD series Chrome Badlands 18x10 and the tires are Nitto Mud Grapplers 37x12.50x18. There are so much new stuff done to this truck i'm sure I am forgetting something. The interior is mostly black. The floor has been spray with reflex bed-liner and extends out over the rocker panels for rust protection. New black carpet, and dash. Seat was in great shape and was recovered with a black and red tweed. There are new billet aluminum trim panels on the dash and door panels. Under the door panels are custom speaker panels painted to match the truck. The stereo is new Kenwood CD with 6 speakers throughout the cab. I got rid of the factory drip rails around the doors and shaved the exterior mirrors. Gives a clean look. The truck was painted red on the top and black on the bottom with a painted on silver pin stripe. Taillights are new black background and clear lens with LED bulbs. Headlights are new HID. New front chrome bumper. The exhaust from the headers is 3 inch Stainless with 2 flowmaster 40 series mufflers. This truck is in pristine condition and will not disappoint. Please only serious buyers. I will not do any trading unless its for 69 camaro in same condition as truck. Ive tried to put the best pitchers i can on here.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
