1998 Chevy Silverado 4x4 extended cab, 3-door pickup truck. "Waldoch Crafts edition", which includes power everything, leather interior, power driver's seat with heater, American Racing rims, chrome grill guard, lift kit (4" I believe), pull-down radar detector, wood grain trim, A/C, CD player and electric rear sliding glass. Recently replaced engine! Truck has 203K and engine has only 118k. It's a 5.7L and runs very strong, smooth and reliable, I would drive it any distance. Rebuilt automatic transmission installed with engine change. Rear end gears replaced as well at the same time. Dual exhaust with chrome ends gives the truck a pretty loud growl, they sound good. Front brakes and rotors recently replaced. Stops straight. Power windows, power door locks, power rear window, power steering, power mirrors, tilt wheel, cruise control, rear view mirror has temperature and wind display. Pull down radar detector built in the ceiling console. Brand new diamond plate toolbox just put on, has lock and keys. Bed is in great shape and has a rubber mat. Heavy duty tow package. This is a great 4x4 truck, I'm just looking to get into a new cargo van for my business. Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism
Mon, 07 Jan 2013Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
