I have a 1988 Chevrolet up for sell, I have owned this truck for about 5 years give or take a little. I have also been the only driver since owning this truck. I will tell you every little thing wrong with the truck and you decide to walk or drive .

Windshield needs to be replaced , it drips water in heavy rain at top of glass. Air Condition needs to be recharged, works just not cold , the transmission in reverse only acts like its slipping for about 2 secounds and when it takes  a grip in is as strong as a new one and i will say that with confidence.I have had a trailer and bobcat on the trailer hook up to the truck and in reverse it will push the trailer and bobcat up any hill or driveway i need to get in. I have only done that 2 or 3 times with this truck mostly used to drop kids off at school and then to do small repair jobs or pull a trailer with lawn mowers on it.

What you see is what you get I told you all i know about the truck except what i have done to it in the last few years. Since owning the truck I have had the rear main oil seal replaced 3 years ago, a new battery a year ago and then again about 7 months ago. Same garage replaced the knuckle bearing in the steering column and other than changing oil and transmission fluids thats all the truck has had done to it. I lost eye sight in my right eye and can no longer drive is the only reason I have to sell it .

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics

Mon, 20 Aug 2012

After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
