Up for auction is my 1985 Chevy C-10 short bed pick-up truck ,I am the 7th owner of this truck which I was told by the former owner that it was originally a 6 cyl. engine that was swapped out for a low milage Chevy 350 with an edelbrock intake ,I replaced the carb with a new holley 600 cfm added a tune up, which consisted of a new set of Accel 8mm wires ,cap, rotor and a set of AC Delco spark plugs . Truck also has headers and turbo mufflers that exit in front of the rear tires. The transmission is a 350 turbo with a shift kit. As far as the brakes go a new master was installed as well as a new radiator that was replaced about 6 months ago.I also had a new windshield installed, and the rest of the glass is in very good condition. This truck also has a custom grill as well as a rear Lund roll pan. The truck sits on a set of American Racing wheels with P255/70-15 Intimidator Roadking SR tires, the spare tire rim matches whats on the truck. As far as the interior goes  I replaced the carpet and installed a JVC CD player with remote control however you will need to replace speakers and there is a small tear on the drivers seat  .The body of the truck is in pretty good shape, the front bumper is very clean and the  cab corners which seems to be the norm for these trucks to be replaced  is really the only bad thing and will have to be done in addition to a paint job.The bed of the truck is in super clean condition as the pictures will show.THE RESERVE IS SET VERY LOW FOR THIS AUCTION AND THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE .Shipping is the buyers responsability and payment will be a certified bankers check which once clears I will overnight the title to you .Any question feel free to e-mail me and I will respond as quick as possible. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT I HAVE A 100% FEEDBACK AND DONT HAVE TIME FOR ANY  ONE WHO JUST HAS NO INTENTION ON COMPLETING THE TRANSACTION SO PLEASE DONT WASTE MY TIME AND YOURS !!!! I also have all the original A/C brackets and what not that goes with the truck.Truck is also for sale locally and reserve the wright to end auction if needed..Thanks for looking at my auction and bid with confidence because this truck is a great starting point for nice ride at a very reasonable price........GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!

I want to apologize to everyone, for I was not aware of the mileage issue untill the posting and would say at this time its a TMU  mileage unknown. However the engine was swapped for a 350 motor with what the gentlemen that owned it before said had about 40,000 miles on it .I don't have any documentation stating such other than the engine is very tight and it definitly shifts great .Again I'm sorry for any misunderstanding...

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
