1985 Chevrolet 1/2 Ton Pickup Engine Swap Fresh Build New Paint Vintage Chevy Pu on 2040-cars

Year:1985 Mileage:68788
Location:

Modesto, California, United States

Modesto, California, United States

1985 Chevy 1/2 ton longbed. Truck was originally a carbureted V6, and was swapped to a '00 Vortec V6/4L60E - all work professionally done here at Woodward Automotive and has the BAR label on the door jamb making it California legal. Roller engine rebuilt, 4L60E overdrive trans rebuilt, most everything in the drivetrain new, new exhaust, Delco Fuel Pump, PCM sent out and reprogrammed for this vehicle/tire size, etc

New Delco A/C compressor, new mirrors, stainless bed rail covers, 275/60-15 tires on Rally wheels, Blue tooth stereo with Kicker 6x9 and Kicker stock size in dash location, alarm, seat redone, new floor cover with dynamat type insulation under it, bed coated, rubber bed mat, matching spare, new windshield & sliding rear glass, power windows, power door locks, trailer hitch

Truck gets 18 MPG freeway, 13 in town.

16,000 Miles since engine and trans built and restoration started

Also shown is a pic before resto started to show what it looked like under the paint

Have $16,000 invested in parts and sublet labor alone, hundreds of hours here in shop time not included. All work was invoiced and can supply work orders itemizing every part and labor operation just as if done for a customer.

Truck was built to be our shop truck, but took so long to do that we bought another truck in the meantime, and this one is just too nice to beat up.

Not looking to get all the money back out of it, but looking for substantially more than half though. Would make a great truck for someone wanting something with classic looks and modern drivetrain for a daily driver. Not too nice to drive everyday, but nice enough for the occasional local show.

Truck was originally a Custom Deluxe with Manual doors. New Silverado emblems were added from dealer, and Doors were converted to power using factory harnesses, etc and has all new switches and one new PW motor. Door locks open and close with alarm.

Also Note:

-Dash pad has cracking that can't be seen with carpet cover in place.

-Gas gauge had to be converted to Digital due to modern electronics.

-Seat in pics was a temporary, Original seat has been redone since pics and looks even better

- Speakers in pics were changed out to Kickers

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
