We are selling this truck to make room for a vehicle for our daughter.  This truck is VERY CLEAN, reliable and well maintained.   Here are some of the details:

Interior:  Most everything on the inside has been replaced including the carpet, headliner, bench seat, seat upholstery, dash and door panels.  It still looks brand new inside with no wear on new parts.

Exterior:  The paint isn't new but it is in VERY nice shape.  If there are any scratches they are VERY minor with NO dents and NO rust.  Emblem holes have been filled, fronfender openings trimmed and capped, bed rails cappedchrome tailgate chains, oak wood in bed with stainless strips and fender bolts.  It has a billet grill, new rear bumper and all trim and mouldings are straight.  Front bumper is straight but could be re-chromed to be perfect.

Engine/Transmission:  Engine is a 1970 402 big block.  Since I have owned it I have replaced the cam shaft and intake manifold with a 280 mega cam and an Edelbrock RPM air gap. There is a Holley carb, new aluminium radiator, aluminium valve covers, heater core and Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers.  The engine runs strong and transmission shifts great.  It has an NP 203 transfer case with a part time kit and super winch hubs and drops in and out of 4 wheel drive great.

Suspension:  8 in super lift springs in front with sway bar drop blocks and 6 in Skyjacker soft ride springs in rear.  Fresh drive shafts and stainless braided brake lines.  38/15.50-15 radial Gumbo Monster Mudders, trued and patch balanced.  Still have truing marks in them.  Wheels are older 15x10 Modern Gamblers with a few spots but still polished.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.

Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner

Sat, 24 Aug 2013

For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"

Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4

Wed, 29 May 2013

Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!
