1964 Chevy Bel Air 2 door Bought this car a few months ago to build myself a summer cruiser. The original 283 was old and tired so it was replaced with a rebuilt late 70's 350 with 4 bolt main. I went through the motor including new gaskets from oil pan to carb. New freeze plugs. I put on original set of ram horn exhaust manifolds as well. Dressed up in finned aluminum and painted red. The whole engine compartment was sanded and painted flat black prior to installing engine. I also put on CPP disc brake kit in front including new master cylinder, stainless steel flex lines and 8" dual power booster. Car stops on a dime! (Drum in rear have new pads and hardware too) Originally had 3 speed on the tree. The tranny was shot so I bought a completely rebuilt 3 speed saginaw & installed a new gm repop chrome tilt column & moved shifter to the floor. I found original hurst competition shifter for it, shifts very smooth. Tranny was out of 76 gm truck, first gear is synchronized.
List of parts, some new: ($5,000 in receipts)
SBC 350 4 bolt main - extremely clean inside, have pictures to show, runs 195-210 all day.
Rebuilt 3 speed Saginaw
New center driveshaft bearing
New black carpet, 66 GTO black seat belts
New Taylor 8.2mm wires, plugs, HEI cap
Rochester Quadrajet works awesome, no sputtering, no coughing, no rough idle, no smoke, no vacuum issues. Fires right up.
New fuel, oil filters, polished aluminum overflow tank, new fluids front to back of car. Redline in tranny, Castrol GT oil in 350 and Castrol gear oil
New Die Hard battery, new starter
New gaskets- oil pan 1 piece blue, fuel pump, water pump, valve cover, carb...
All the pulleys, brackets, intake, fan shroud were taking off and sandblasted, them painted red or black. While radiator was out , whole radiator support was sanded & painted flat black.
Recently recovered black front split bench with folding arm rest. Back bench is very clean except for sun damage on just the top 6" inches.
New Boss 338 wheels and tires 17" in front 18" in back. Crosswind tires are 225/45/17 up front 245/40/18 in back, brand new probably 200 miles on them.
New slotted and drilled rotors up front, new master, prop valve, booster & fresh hard lines.
New chrome TILT column -floor shift
Original hurst competition floor shifter
Repainted dash and kick panels black, has impala glove box. (only difference is the chrome trim piece)
New Viper door popper kit professionally installed by Custom Car Alarms, it has shaved door handles and trunk. Driver and trunk use key fob passenger door has hidden switch. There is also a hidden manual cable release tucked away in case the battery dies, you always have a way in. Whoever buys the car will be told the location. 2 key fobs.
New 3 gauge pod, water, oil pressure and voltmeter works, fuel gauge works.
New front sway bar links
New complete exhaust system including glass packs and turn downs under the back seat, sounds ridiculously good. Was going for that 60's vibe. Exhaust is tucked up against the x frame and if you look at the car from the side you can't see anything! Less is more sometimes.
New chrome armrest bases and pads
Frame is painted flat black. All fittings are greased(steering, suspension and u joints)
KYB shocks all around.
Manual steering
Heater works
Alpine CD player, one speaker in dash. nothing cut or hacked up, just very simple.
New black headliner in box made by PUI included, all bows are too.
Original black plates and fully registered and insured. (pic shows old whites but they now have correct DMV YOM 2 black plates)
New inner & outer tie rods, hardware, & sleeves.
It runs very well, could easily be daily driver. I built this to keep for myself so I kind of spent a lot of money trying to make it very reliable and fun. I just have too many cars so I have to let this one go. It needs very little to be "done" like hooking up speedometer(cable is there, just hook up at tranny), blinkers both light up at same time so I assume a wire is not grounding or something fairly simple. Lights work, high and low beam, wipers work, horn doesn't, dummy lights aren't Hooked up because I used the more accurate 3 gauge pod, brake lights work fine.
No rust in the floors or back window, package tray -which still has original paint. Never cut, lowered, or hacked up either. I had to put in a hole for the new floor shifter of course, but that's done right too. The floors & trunk were cleaned and POR-15 solvent prepped and painted with etching primer. The trunk is 99% rust free, its unusually clean. New drain plugs and seam seal as well.
Car is a blast to drive and somebody will really enjoy it. It is for sale locally, unfortunately I might have to end the auction soon so good luck bidding if you like it.
Quick video of underneath the car, it's pretty clean.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum
Fri, 02 May 2014Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
