This is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 that was an older restoration that I started in 2002. This is a northern car that has passed through various owners over the years and has been through various restoration processes that I have updated and/or replaced. Paint is in good shape (striking, isn't it?) and can be touched up. The car needs body work from rear seat pans back on undercarriage, braces etc. and has only basic interior construction. Runs extremely well and sounds great on the road. Improvements to date include (all new when installed): 2002 GM crate engine V-8 350 H.O. 330hp. All brackets and hoses. Richmond T-10 4 speed transmission, RAM clutches, Hurst shifter, all brackets etc. Mallory ignition, vacuum advance, chrome 63amp alternator, Thorley TRI-Y headers, Hi-efficiency radiator (specific 1957 radiator bracket, not installed), Jim Meyer Racing products I.F.S. system (drop spindles, complete brakes, ball joints, tube A arms, coil over shocks and mounts, power rack and pinion steering, power steering pump kit. IDIDIT steering column, dual master cylinder with proportioning valve and all hard lines, March pulleys and brackets, rear leaf springs, gas tank with sending unit and gas line, custom dual exhaust with purple hornets, wiper motor with cables (cables not installed), fabricated driveshaft. Other parts included but not installed are front and rear sway bars, rear spring lift kit, rear shock bracket. Glass is all original except front passenger door glass has been replaced.
This car is being sold as is, no warranty with shipping the responsibility of the purchaser. Payment in cash, discussed between parties.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment
Thu, 07 Nov 2013That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.
Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
