Chevy Aveo - Blue, 4-door, in good condition, 1 family owned, maintained well
Oil changes on time, all maintenance performed on schedule. Purchased new by my sister, my father drove it for a short time, and it was passed to me. I have a primary vehicle, and was keeping it as a spare, but do not want to insure two vehicles any longer. The tires have good tread, we put in a brand new battery within the last year, it had a recent oil change, oil filter, air filter, tires inflated, replaced wiper blades, recharged AC, and replaced a headlight. It will need brakes sometime within the next 6 months most likely but they work currently. The front end suspension could use replacing sometime within the next year. Otherwise everything is working perfectly. The MP3/CD player plays MP3 disks and CDs. Power steering, two copies of the key (both remote locking), original manuals, etc. Power locks and doors, 4-door, front wheel drive. 23/26 MPG. Good gas mileage, easy to drive, good car for local travel or college student. It has always been reliable. There is a dent in the upper drivers-side door panel that I touched up to prevent any rusting. It is not that noticable (Dad backed into the door oops). It does not affect the closure, seal, or look. The car was factory rust proofed, and there is no rust underneath, or on the panels. Let me know if you have any other questions. |

Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
Veyron and C7 Corvette join cast of Transformers 4
Wed, 29 May 2013Like the Fast & Furious franchise, the Michael Bay-directed series of Transformers movies has become known as much for its bad acting as its impressive lineup of cars. As filming just started for Transformers 4, Bay's website has confirmed two new cars for the next installment as well as a makeover for everyone's favorite tractor trailer hero, Optimus Prime.
Joining the cast of T4 are a "race-inspired" Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. While Bay's website did not supply names for either car, Bugatti is reporting on its Facebook page that the Veyron will join the Autobots. Speaking of the good guys, top Autobot Optimus Prime is getting an all-new body based on a Western Star with a gaudy appearance that was seemingly inspired by Trick My Truck - right down to the six smoke stacks and side pipes!
GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
