1999 Cadillac Deville D'elegance Sedan 4-door 4.6l - 1 Owner on 2040-cars
Bayville, New York, United States
1999 Cadillac DeVille D'Elegance - 73,830 One Owner CarFax Documented Miles CarFax also documents a dealer maintained car with no accidents or negative history whatsoever! Runs, looks and drives like new! This car slept in a heated garage all of it's life. This vehicle goes to the highest bidder. No Reserve! No Buy It Now!! It is being sold "As Is". After driving the vehicle 25 - 28 or so minutes, or 10 - 15 miles highway and stop and go, the engine temperature exceeds normal operating temperature and will eventually automatically shut itself down. Unless you are extremely talented with car engines, Shipping is Recommended! It's a shame this pristine car has this issue. It sounds like a Head Gasket, something the NorthStar Caddy engines are known for. There is no anti-freeze in the oil and it does not blow any white smoke out the exhaust. Maybe you know something I don't, but since my mechanic does not "speak" Cadillac, I am selling it "As Is". Motor is quiet - no oil leaks, misfire or tranny slippage. Upon examination and road test you will think you are driving a 1 year old car. Tires are brand new! Maybe they have 300 miles on them. Bid with confidence. The photos do not capture how clean this car is. I have all the books and the original invoice shows a $44,000.00 car when new. The air conditioner does not work. The compressor seems to be binding up with the AC on. When the AC is off it spins no problem. Any questions call 516-228-1016 and leave a message if I’m not in.
Please don’t wait until the last day or last few hours to contact me. Please
speak clearly. I will pick you up at the airport, train or bus station.
Winning bidder please
leave a $300.00 non-refundable deposit in PayPal within 48 hours of the auction
close. If I don't receive the deposit within the 48 hours I will re-list the
car.
Please plan on picking this vehicle up within 15 days of the auction
close unless you have made prior arrangements with me before bidding.
All vehicles that run and drive are driven at least 10 to 20 miles
and usually 30 to 40 miles. I try to describe these vehicles to the best of my
35 years of experience. Our familiarity with these autos is limited to the miles
we drive them. Please be aware of this when bidding.
As always, if the winning bidder is not happy after road test and examination, I will cancel the sale and
refund $250.00 of your deposit.
Attention “Phantom/No-Show” bidders – I do not entertain any second
place bids and always re-list the vehicle. If your feedback is 1 or lower you must contact me prior to bidding.
If you don’t contact me your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from
further bidding.
Final sale price is what you pay! (New York residents must pay sales
tax and inspection fee when applicable.) There are no extra hidden fees!!!
We will accept any and all trade-ins or will visit you to purchase
any vehicle outright within a 50 mile radius of zip code 11554.
Good luck and thanks for looking! |

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum.
