1971 Buick Gs Stage One Real Deal Numbers Matching Stage One 455 on 2040-cars
Indian Trail, North Carolina, United States
Up for auction is one of the most amazing cars I've ever seen. Unfortunatly I am selling my 1971 Buick GS Stage One. The car has been completely restored from top to bottom. The engine and transmission were rebuilt at the time of the restoration. The numbers matching engine is stamped with the stage one lettering and is the real deal. The paint was done on a rotisserie so the floor pans shine as much as the fenders do. The trunk is fitted with a correct spare and all the tires, brakes, suspension belts and even air conditioning was put back exactly how it was supposed to be and in working order. It does have a correct radio in it but it does not work. The intent was to hide a sound system in the car that was more modern but then I got word we may be moving so I thought I would leave that decision to the new owner. I am selling the car because we are moving up north and I just don't want it to see any salt or bad weather. it runs and drives perfectly, I would trust it as an every day driver, with plenty of power to out run the majority of modern day cars and still put out cold A/C while it does it!! The paint job is the best black paint I have ever seen, I looked everywhere for a flaw but there just isn't one! I have my reserve set well below what I think the car is worth, if it doesn't sell I will take it with me, I will not give the car away just because I'm moving so please don't bombard me with lowball offers. If you are interested, I would be happy to meet you to show the car in the Charlotte area. Please ask any questions before bidding. I've outlined all I can think of with the car but there is so much I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
GM SUV window switch recall urges owners to park vehicles outside
Thu, 07 Aug 2014It's not unusual for there to be a lag between an automaker announcing a recall and the official documentation showing up on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. So it's no surprise that a recent GM campaign took about a month to appear in its official capacity. However, there appears to be some big differences between the two reports with potential safety implications.
In late June, GM announced that it needed to recall 181,984 examples of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7x from the 2005-2007 model years, plus the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and 2006 GMC Envoy XL. The new documents paint a slightly different picture with 184,611 needing repaired and different model years listed.
The reason for the fix is still the same, though. It's possible for fluid to contact the master power window switch module in the driver's door, which can corrode the part. Eventually this could cause a short circuit, leaving the buttons inoperable and potentially leading to a fire. But the new NHTSA documents add an important note: "A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made."
