You are bidding on a one of a kind 1987 Buick Grand National. I am the 2nd owner of this vehicle. I purchased the car 2 years ago from the original owner with 22,000 original miles on it. The car was sitting in a garage for 16 years. I had the entire motor rebuilt by Paul at No Limit Performance. A well renowned race engine builder with a reputation second to none. I explained I wanted the original car and engine to be built with todays technology. I have a complete build sheet on the car but I will list here with the exact details to be issued to a serious buyer. The interior of the vehicle is in pristine condition with no faults or blemishes what so ever. The car was sanded and painted by M3 Auto in Neptune NJ and was taken completely down to bare metal, epoxy primed and painted with 6 coats of paint and 12 coats of clear coat. The car has yet to be wet sanded and buffed and you will still see in the photos it has a mirror finish. The engine is an original matching numbers engine and has as follows:

3250 Stroker Crank with Chevy Journals Made in USA
Oliver racing Rods
Ross Pistons
Comp Cam Shaft
Engine was honed .25 and completely Glyptoned
Ported and Polished Heads
Crane Roller rockers and Rods
72MM GN1 Throttle Body
Edelbrock Manifold
Edelbrock Racing Fuel Rails
Edelbrock Plenum
70lbs HO Injectors
T72 Precision Turbo Charger
3" Down Pipe
External Waste Gate
Oversized Chrome intercooler
Aluminum Pulley System
High Volume oil pump
High Volume Fuel Pump
Level 10 Transmission with shift kit
9" Torque Converter
Aluminum 3" Radiator

Engine has 500 miles since rebuild.

There is way too much work that has been done to this GN but the car purrs like a kitten and will run low 11's on the track.
This is an adult driven GN and the car has been babied and well taken care of. You will not find a cleaner GN anywhere online. This car is a 5 time best of show winner and a 12 time top 5 winner in Northeast car shows. I have 16 GNX wheels on the car with the original 15" wheels in the garage and available. I have all the original parts as well. This auction is for the serious buyer that appreciates a meticulously done vehicle. This car is a must see. Please don't bid if you are not serious. I have a complete build sheet for the serious buyer. I am selling the car because I want to move on to the next project which is an old Chevelle rebuild/restore.

Please only bid if you are serious.

GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.

GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
