This 1983 Volvo 244 GL is very well preserved with a some imperfections. See Pictures. It will NOT start. When it does start it runs very well. It has low mileage of 139,000. The exterior and interior are very well preserved and the car must have been garaged for most of its life. The dash is pretty cracked up. The sunroof works and it has a very good sony cd stereo. I would hope someone wants it to get going and not for parts. I really do not want to let it go but it is time. Recent work done includes a new master cylinder for the brake system, new brake line junction box, brake lines flushed with new fluid added, tune up with new plugs, wires, coil, distributor, distributor cap, rotor. It also had the entire wiring harness replaced by Volvo at 127,000 at a cost of $1400. The tires have no mileage or wear on them but would probably have to be replaced due to age. I would guess that there is something simple wrong with it but I am tired of trying to figure it out. It also might just be a tank of bad gas. I am starting the price at the price the junk man will give for it. I'm sure that someone who knows these cars can get it going with no trouble at all and it would be a very good driver. In the vehicle history report it is stated that the odometer has passed mechanical limits. This is because it has over 100,000 miles. The mileage on the car is 139,000 original miles. This vehicle will definitely need some repairs, but I do not think any major repairs, to make a daily driver and is being sold as-is. It would be a good project for a Volvo lover with some time to work on it.

Jaguar turns down offers to join V8 Supercars, questions AMG, Volvo participation
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Rumors have swirled in recent weeks that Jaguar may be the next manufacturer to join the V8 Supercars racing series, made popular in Australia but now well-known in other parts of the world as well. Sadly, Jag's participation is not to be. In fact, it would be "insane," according to Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific Managing Director David Blackhall, for it to accept either of the two offers it has received to bring Jaguar into V8 Supercars.
Not only is Jaguar not interested in entering V8 Supercars, says Blackhall, it also fails to understand the recent entries from AMG and Volvo. "I don't know what it does for AMG to get flogged by a V8 Commodore week after week, but it's their brand, their issue. And the same thing will happen to Volvo to be honest."
Judging by Blackhall's statements to motoring.com.au, after not-so-serious consideration, the automaker decided the monetary commitment it would take to compete for wins would be more than any potential exposure would be worth, despite the fact that Jaguar has a 5.0-liter V8 to go along with what would seem to be a tailor-made rear-wheel-drive chassis. For what it's worth, one offer would have had Jaguar putting its name across an engine made by someone else, an option that was flatly turned down.
Volvo updates Inscription packages for 2015 XC60, S80
Tue, 01 Apr 2014Volvo is improving the luxury offered by the XC60 and S80 with upgrades to both models' Inscription packages for 2015. It is also making all of its models (other than the soon-to-be-replaced XC90) available with its new Drive-E engine family and Sensus infotainment system.
The Inscription package was previously available on both the XC60 and S80, but new upgrades include Sovereign Hide leather throughout their interiors, including on their instrument panels, seatbacks, center armrests and headrests. Inscription also adds wood inlaid trim and new floor mats. On the outside, the package is offered in Crystal White Pearl, Electric Silver and - exclusively for the S80 - Ember Black. The XC60 comes with 20-inch, ten-spoke wheels, and the S80 receives 19-inch wheels of the same design.
As part of its sponsorship of a yacht race, Volvo is also bringing the XC60 Ocean Race Edition to the US. Buyers will get their choice of black or blonde leather seats with orange stitching, a map of the race route on the rear load cover and the event's logo around the car.
Volvo XC90 First Edition sells out in 47 hours
Fri, 05 Sep 2014Two days ago, Volvo opened the order books on its completely new 2015 XC90 crossover, and just like that, all of the 1,927 First Edition models were reserved in a scant 47 hours. According to Volvo, most of the vehicles were reserved within one hour of the online ordering site launching, and at its peak, seven cars were being sold each minute.
First Edition models wear a unique Onyx Black exterior, and ride on eight-spoke, 21-inch wheels. Inside, amber nappa leather covers the seats, the dashboard is lined in charcoal leather, and there are walnut inlays throughout the cabin.
Under the hood, the XC90 First Edition can be had with either a four-cylinder Drive-E gasoline or diesel engine (if you live in markets outside the US, of course). The twin-charged T6 petrol model comes with 320 horsepower, and sends its power to the ground via all-wheel drive.
