1962 Volkswagen Beetle 29,300 Original Miles

Bought in London England by a US Airman at VW Motors Limited. Had it shipped back to the States and it was driven less than 600 or so miles per year. This Special and Rare VW still retains its Original Paint and Interior...Yes, original all the way! This Bug has accumulated only 29,067 miles in its entire life. Take a look at the photos. If you're looking for a once in a lifetime purchase of a VW for enjoyment or your collection...look no further. You may not find another one quite like this one. A storyboard with all the manuals, letters, registration, UK decal, purchase receipt, sales document, etc...Original OFL71 UK License Plates front and rear included. Also has the original Mohair Style headliner still intact and in great shape!
Absolutely no rust as the paint retains it's original shine (unbelievable) Pans are like new! Interior is all original and has never been touched. The entire car for that matter has never been touched or taken apart.  ALL ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN. Let me stress the rare opportunity here folks! Take a look and make your best bid. On Feb-13-13 at 08:07:07 PST, seller added the following information:

Upon recent discovery of the paintwork, some newer paintwork was discovered, therefore my previous description of all original paint has been changed to reflect this. In all fairness to the bidders who have bid according to the previous description, I am ending the item. I will be re listing this VW with a different description once all items have been sorted out.

Honest certainly will be prevailing here. If anyone is interested in making an offer based on the new findings..please do so. Thank you for your understanding, but I didn't want to end the item without a detailed reason as such.
Thank you, Drew

Editors' Choice: Top Five 2013 Geneva Motor Show Debuts

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

We've returned from a very busy week in Switzerland, and in going back over all of our 75 stories from the Geneva Motor Show, our editors have gathered up their personal favorite debuts from the European expo.
The wonderful thing about the Geneva show is just how wide of an array of vehicles are on display - everything from funny little one-off EVs to the most exotic of supercars to, well, truly ridiculous displays of coachbuilding. And because of that, this list of our editors' favorites might not be as predictable as you think.
But we don't want to give anything away just yet. Scroll down to have a look at our team's favorites from Geneva.

2014 Volkswagen GTI to start a new hot hatch era in Geneva

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

The upcoming Geneva Motor Show is going to be stocked with important new production models and sexy concept cars, but hot hatch enthusiasts will undoubtedly see it as the coming out party of the MkVII Volkswagen GTI. And while we've only got European specifications and pricing to go on for now, we can tell from the get-go that the new GTI will be a proper heir to VW's hot hatch legacy.
This seventh-generation GTI is powered by a turbocharged, direct-injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which makes 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque in base form. For the first time ever, Volkswagen is also offering a performance pack for the GTI as well, which ups the horsepower to 230 (torque remains unchanged). With a slightly lower curb weight to push around - the new base car weighs 2,978 pounds versus 3,034 for the current three-door GTI - 0-62 miles per hour is now achieved in 6.5 seconds, and top speed is 153 mph. (Cars with the performance pack offer 0-62 mph in 6.4 seconds, and a 155-mph top speed.) Buyers my choose between a six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed DSG unit.
Visually, the new GTI has obviously adopted the slant-nosed looks of the MkVII Golf, though with plenty of added drama. The exterior is dominated by the 17-inch "Brooklyn" wheels wearing 225-section rubber, and the aggressive front fascia gets black honeycombed inserts in the upper and lower grille sections. At launch, Volkswagen will offer the GTI in three colors: the Pure White seen here, Tornado Red and Black. Tartan patterned seats are of course still an option for the interior, while the GTI-specific steering wheel and shift knob are standard.

UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.
