I have used the Kelly Blue Book to price the vehicle. Private Party Value: Excellent ,$7,189, Very Good $6,864, Good $6,664, Fair $5,814 Based off of the definitions provided by Kelly Blue Book, I believe the car fits in the "very good" category; however, I am pricing the car in the good category in the hopes that an interested buyer and I can proceed in a stress free manner, with complete transparency. Taxes and State specific fees are the responsibility of the buyer (title, registration, etc..) Unlike a dealer, I am not going to hit you with a BS admin or delivery fee. All scheduled maintenance, All records, No accidents, Non-smoker, One owner, Well maintained... The car "under the hood" is in great to excellent condition. I have all records, and a summary of all maintenance records from Sweedish Imports is available upon request. I am going to personally detail the inside of the vehicle and wash the car on the day of a potential purchase. See included pictures. The front of the car picture shows a few superficial scratches on the front bumper, consistent with a 90K car. Front headlights have moderate oxidation (clouding). The Saab emblem on front and back hood, as in picture, are completely metal now (The Saab emblem was originally painted, see front picture) Picture of inside of car shows a small dent in driver panel at top. Other than these superficial body/interior issues, the car would qualify for the Kelly Blue book definition of "Excellent;" however, because of these I consider the car to be in the "very good" category. Extra Options on car: OnStar (withOUT current subscription), Two tone leather seats, rear back up help (beeps when you are close to something), radar/laser detector with power cord integrated into car (i.e. not plugged into the cigarette lighter) Approx. halfway through the life of the tires. Rare 9-5 SportCombi, 9-4X models being sold off in Saab asset auction
Mon, 03 Dec 2012Saab lovers take notice. Swedish auction house KVD has some ultra rare Saab products on the block, and we're not talking about a 1950s Saab 92. Up for auction are a bunch of low-mileage Saab models being sold off as part of the bankrupted automaker's assets. Included in the lot of cars are models like the 2012 9-5 SportCombi (above), the 2012 9-4X (shown below) and even a 9-5 sedan driven by Victor Muller himself.
Discovered by PistonHeads, this Saab auction has numerous 9-5 SportCombi and 9-4X models, which should prove to be very rare cars. Only a small number of 9-4Xs were ever sold, and Saab closed up shop before the 9-5 SportCombi could even go on sale here. In addition to the rarity, many of the cars have fewer than 10 miles on their odometers and seemingly low reserve prices; a 9-4X 3.0 XWD Premium with just six miles has a current bid of 180,000 Swedish Krona (just over $27,000 USD) that has already met the reserve price. Some of the cars still have the protective factory shipping tape covering up the interior and exterior.
Other than the rare SportCombis and 9-4Xs being auctioned off, there's also a sharp 2012 9-3 Cabriolet with 11 miles on the clock and a V8-powered 2006 Saab 9-7X with just 3,003 miles.
Saab's Victor Muller wanted to nix Griffin, return to airplane emblem
Tue, 09 Oct 2012According to Just-Auto.com Victor Muller wasn't a fan of the Saab Griffin logo. The executive was quoted as saying he wanted to "abolish" the Griffin logo and return to the airplane emblem. Muller made it clear that if he'd had his way, the propeller would have replaced the Griffin across the Saab lineup long ago.
National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the company that recently bought Saab, was forced to abandon the Griffin logo due to the fact that the emblem is still used by truck manufacturer Scania. The manufacturer is reportedly concerned about potential Chinese counterfeiting - NEVS is owned by Youngman, a Chinese automaker - though it's unclear how that relationship would lead to illegal copies.
Either way, NEVS has said the loss of the Griffin logo isn't that important to the company so long as it can continue to build on the Saab name. Muller, meanwhile, said he wishes NEVS luck in the company's electric-vehicle endeavor, but that he doesn't understand its new business model.
Saab to reintroduce 9-3 SportCombi as Phoenix development continues
Sun, 27 Apr 2014The saga of Saab goes to show that you can't keep a good automaker down. Founded back in 1947 (the same year, incidentally, as Ferrari, TVR and Maserati defector OSCA), Saab split off from its aerospace division, merged with Scania trucks, was subsequently picked up by General Motors, then pawned off onto Spyker before its current Chinese owners brought it back out of bankruptcy. Now under the auspices of National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS), Saab has official restarted production of the 9-3 sedan, but what are its plans for the future?
In correspondence with Autoblog, NEVS communications director Mikael Ostlund gave us an idea of what to expect. First of all, NEVS is living up to its name by launching an electric version of the 9-3. As we reported a couple of weeks ago, the 9-3 EV currently is undergoing a pilot launch in the Chinese city of Qingdao (which owns part of NEVS) before being rolled out in other markets around the world. But that's not all NEVS has planned for Saab.
The reborn Swedish automaker also plans to relaunch the 9-3 SportCombi to supplement the 9-3 sedan. The wagon version was part of the second-gen 9-3's rollout in the early 2000s, offering increased cargo space and versatility - particularly vital since GM had seen it fit to replace the previous hatchback bodystyle favored by the brand faithful with a more traditional trunked form to lure new buyers into the fold. Although Ostlund confirmed that NEVS has "the option of adding the convertible" back into the lineup, nut has yet to decide on if and when it will do so.
