I am selling my Saab 9-3 SE convertible.  I bought this car last year from Sutliff Cadillac in Mechanicsburg PA and was told it was traded by the owner on a new Saab convertible prior to Saab going bankrupt.  I bought it as my daily driver back and forth from work (200 mile / day highway commute) because of gas prices and not wanting to run up the miles on my truck.  When I bought it there were about 55K miles on it.  So the last 30K is 100% highway.  I am selling it now because I have a daughter and it is very hard to get here in and out of a car seat for daycare and I am changing to a 4 door.

THIS CAR HAS AN ABSOLUTLY CLEAN HISTORY WITH NO DAMAGE OF ANY KIND ON THE AUTO CHECK OR CAR FAX

The condition is excellent for a 2002 with the only issues being stated in the condition description.  I runs perfect and recently passed PA inspection at which time the rear brake pads and rotors were replaced and a new exhaust resonator was installed.  The top shows no wear at all since the vehicle has always been garage kept and the automatic mechanism works perfectly .  The seats are also in great shape with no cracks or damage which is typically seen on the drivers side.  If you would like to come see it please email me and we can set up a time for a test drive.

Service work done in the last year:  new spark plugs, rear brakes, exhaust resonator, & new battery in October

I previously listed this car and the AC compressor was noted as needing replaced.  I completed the service this week.  So it now has a new AC compressor, recharged system and a new serpentine belt so it is completely ready to go.

Added from the condition category of the template, realized it is not visible on apps.

There are two small holes in the vinyl, one on the dash and one on the convertible tonneau.  Both are about the 2mm and shown in the pictures.  There are a few pixels on the SID that do not always light up, very typical to all Saabs of this year and before.  There are the typical stone chips you would expect on the front end of the car you would expect on an 11 year old car, all minor, but I am trying to cover everything so there are no surprises.

NEVS mulling electric Saab 9-3 convertible, looking for engine partners, too

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

Do you believe in reincarnation? Like how we hope that, maybe, all of our hard work as auto writers will result in an eventual return as a swarm of beautiful butterflies. If you are a Saab fan, the equivalent could be this bit of news: The 9-3 Convertible may rise again, as an electric vehicle.
Word comes from the Dutch version of Autoweek that Chinese entity National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) has indicated that it will bring an electric version of the 9-3 Convertible to market in the next 18 months. The EV droptop would first debut in the Chinese market, but could expand, as could the lineup to other 9-3 variants, such as the sedan and SportCombi. A NEVS spokesperson has stated, "NEVS basically no doors holds." We're not sure if that's the spokesperson or the translation from the Dutch report, but you get the gist.
NEVS also indicated that conventionally powered versions of the 9-3 could be produced as well. The internal combustion engines could be the originally intended General Motors engines. Regardless of powerplant, we would be very eager to see Saab return, potentially as an EV to boot!

Super sleeper Saab 900 does 174 mph in the standing mile

Sun, 14 Apr 2013

Somewhere behind Hennessey setting a new top speed record at this year's Texas Mile with its camouflage Ford GT, a stock-looking 1996 Saab 900T pulled up to the line to see what it could do. The dealer showroom wheels wouldn't offer any indication that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood was getting help from a Garrett turbocharger, a tuned ECU and E85 gas to put out 465 horsepower at the front wheels.
Knowing that, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that at the other end of the mile the sky blue Swedish wonder was doing 174 miles per hour. The four-cylinder class at the Texas Mile has plenty such rockets, too, this Swede coming just behind a Dodge Neon that did 175.8 mph. You can watch the Saab do its thing in the video below.

Former Saab chairman Muller faces summons in tax inquiry

Thu, 23 May 2013

Former Saab Chairman Victor Muller may be called in for questioning as part of an official inquiry into suspected tax evasion by three of the automaker's former executives. A prosecutor has officially named former CEO Jan-Ake Jonsson and two other executives in the investigation, and official court documents say that Muller will be called in by the Financial Crimes Unit. According to Reuters, prosecutors are currently looking into allegations that the executives worked to dodge taxes between 2010 and 2011, when the automaker finally went into bankruptcy.
The Truth About Cars reports the investigation may center around the $540,000 paid as consulting fees to Latin America Tug Holding NV, a company Muller owns. It's possible that the Swedish authorities believe the Saab executives were using the tug boat company as a tax haven, and that the automaker should have paid taxes and social security contributions on the money. Muller has not been charged.
Meanwhile, Muller is defending his earnings in a new interview with Automotive News. Having come under fire for his $773,000 salary at Saab, the Spyker CEO said his pay was commensurate with an executive running a company with 4,000 employees.
