The exterior of this vehicle is in very good condition for its age, it has some stone chips on the hood and couple of bird drops that damaged clear coat, Left Headlight has a stone damage, its not cracked, but there is a small hole, Convertible top has 2 small rips, but it doesn't leak and works the way it should. We took a picture of every noticeable damage, not including light scratches and small dings, so please look at all pictures carefully. The interior of this vehicle is in good condition for its age, Passenger's seat has some cracks because of its age. It looks like Driver's seat had some cracks too and previous owner re upholstered it and it looks brand new. CID Display has some dead pixels, which is common for these cars. Brand new cup-holder was installed by us, which is a common problem for these cars as well. Shifter boot shows some wear as well. We tried to show all damages we noticed on pictures, please look at them carefully. If You need an extra picture, please let us know. Mechanically it runs and drives 100%.. The turbocharged 250hp 2.3L motor is very healthy, sounds great and has plenty of power. Clutch feels great. There are absolutely no Warning lights. There are no unusual drive-train or suspension noises. All suspension and steering components are in proper working order. All related power-train components including heat and A/C are all in excellent condition. All 4 Matching Tires Have about 70% thread left. We have provided over 70 high quality images. Last 900 Saabs heading to auction
Fri, 22 Jun 2012If you've been wanting to get your hands on one last new Saab but missed out on the great Saab sell-off when Saab Cars North America declared bankruptcy, well, your ship has now come in.
Actually, it came in last year - but hundreds of new Saabs got waylaid at ports in California and New Jersey because of the bankruptcy, according to SaabWorld.net. Those cars are now slated for auction, some 900 of them, which will be available for dealers, exporters and rental car companies to bid on beginning next week. Eventually, 300 of these cars should make their way to Saab dealers, where they're expected to be sold off at 30- to 50-percent discounts. The other 600 will either be exported or used as rentals, according to the report, so "the price of Saabs will not be severely depressed."
Besides the new cars, some 67 company cars, including some interesting stuff like a 1960 Saab Quantum IV and a 1970 Sonnett III, will also be auctioned off, according to the report. Of the new cars, just over half are 9-5 models, some 400 are 9-3 sedans, another 60 are 9-3 wagons, and about a dozen are convertibles. According to the report, 28 are actually 9-4X crossovers, which is more than 10 percent of Saab's total 2011 sales for that model.
2014 Saab 9-3 officially relaunched, reborn
Thu, 05 Dec 2013Saab is officially building cars again. Production of the 9-3 Sedan has kicked back off in Trollhättan, Sweden, and the first example is reportedly earmarked for the company's museum. Initial sales are targeted for China, although Swedish customers will also be able to buy new Saabs built in their country right away, too. It isn't immediately clear if the model will be available in the rest of Europe, let alone in North America.
The initial run of 9-3s will be powered by a 220-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder before an electric model joins the range next year. There are no Biopower or XWD all-wheel-drive models presently in production. And while the lion's share of the 2014 9-3 is a carryover from the pre-bankruptcy car, there are some changes, including a new anti-whiplash seat system and a "greater number of non-GM parts," reports SaabsUnited.
"I am very proud of the dedication and the focus that NEVS management and employees have demonstrated over the year that has passed since we became owners of the plant in Trollhättan, and who have made this possible. Swedish expertise along with Japanese technology around batteries and new lightweight materials and our Chinese group's focus on green technology is our strength for the future," said Kai Johan Jiang, the founder of Saab's parent company, National Electric Vehicle Sweden.
Saab 9-3 production to start in China in 2013 [UPDATE]
Thu, 17 Jan 2013We knew that National Electric Vehicle Sweden planned to restart production of the last-gen Saab 9-3 at some point in the future, we just didn't know exactly when, or exactly where. As it turns out, the answers to those questions are soon, and China.
Though NEVS had initially said it will build vehicles in Sweden before shipping them to China, the latest report from Autocar suggests that the cars will instead be built right in Quingdao starting later in 2013. That's right, this calendar year. Also on the docket is a followup electric version of the 9-3, which is slated to come to market in 2014 in an effort to satiate China's wish that there be half a million EVs silently filling its streets within the next two years.
NEVS wants to be part of the EV solution, but it's not going to be easy. Naturally, if these cars are to be built in China, a factory has to be located or built, tooling needs to be in place, workers need to be hired and trained and a lengthy trail of paperwork has to be signed off by the government before even the well-known gasoline-powered 9-3 can be a reality, let along the unknown quantity that is the 9-3 ePower.
