1986 Mazda Rx-7 Gxl Coupe 2-door 1.3l 22k Miles! Excellent Condition! on 2040-cars
Redwood City, California, United States
Please take the time to read the description Body (9/10): The paint is in extremely good shape considering the age of
the vehicle. To this day, the original paint shines extremely well.
The paint has a few imperfections here and there with minor scratches and
spotting as clearly shown in the pictures. This 100% rust free California car
has a clean title. Having never been in any sort of accident, this car has all
original, matching VIN body panels. With the exception of dents which can be
addressed via paint-less dent removal, the body is very straight and lines up
extremely well. Interior (9/10): The front and rear seats wear the original upholstery and the material is still soft. The main floor carpet, as well as the floor mats, has
been professionally steam cleaned. All the door panels are in great condition. The driver and climate controls work. Engine/Transmission
(9/10): I must say the engine and transmission are one of the strongest points of this
car. It starts right up and idles perfectly. The engine does not leak any fluids and the transmission upshifts and downshifts smoothly through all the gears. This car has never been
tracked or modified. This car spent the majority of its life cruising down the
highway or stored in a garage. Suspension/Brakes
(9/10): Although the Suspension and brakes have no undergone a
complete overhaul, the necessary maintenance has been kept up on these
components of the vehicle. The car come to a solid stop from 80 MPH with no
hesitation or vibration. The ride in the city and on the highway is clunk/rattle free. The suspension and steering are tight and precise. I would not at all
hesitate to drive this car anywhere! |

Mazda Hazumi Concept shows up ahead of Geneva
Tue, 25 Feb 2014Last week, Mazda officially teased its Geneva-bound Hazumi concept, showing little more than an aggressive headlamp design. But now, thanks to the magic of the Internet, another rendering of the Hazumi has appeared on the web, and, well, it's totes adorbs.
In Mazda's original release from last week, we were told that the name "Hazumi" means "spring up" or "bound" in Japanese, and is "particularly well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy." And now that we're getting a nearly full glimpse of the thing, we absolutely have to agree. The company's Kodo design language offers aggressive style in a cute little shape, and the usual raft of concept car-spec treatments (no mirrors, huge wheels, etc.) make it look even more comical and delightful.
Indeed, the Hazumi is understood to preview the next Mazda2 subcompact, and if this concept car points the way forward for Mazda's tiniest hatch, consider us totally geeked. Mazda is also set to debut its new 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine at the Geneva Motor Show next week, and while the company hasn't confirmed if that powerplant will make its way into the next Mazda2, it sure makes sense, at least overseas. Stay tuned.
Mazda announces live-streaming vehicle intro on Xbox
Wed, 19 Jun 2013In April, Mazda introduced a marketing campaign titled "Game Changers" to showcase how certain people have made significant impacts in their respective sports, and now it's the Japanese automaker that is changing the game by creating an innovative way to launch a new product. Mazda is teaming up with Xbox to offer a first-of-its-kind live-streaming global debut of a new product. Mazda didn't say which model will be debuted, but our guess is that it will be the next-generation Mazda3.
The actual reveal will take place at 9 pm on June 26 during a live concert from the band Metric in New York City, but there will be other live events preceding the concert in Melbourne, St. Petersburg, Istanbul and London. Mazda will be promoting the event on social media using the hashtag #GameChanger, and there is also a contest on Xbox where one winner will receive $2,500 to attend a music event of their choice. Scroll down for the full details of the contest and vehicle debut event.
Road & Track to take Miata on million-mile march
Sat, 11 Jan 2014Road & Track has taken on a Miata project. One hell of a project, if we're honest. You see, the Miata in question, a 1989 example in Mariner Blue, isn't a high-mileage Mazda that the publication intends to fix up, or make race-worthy, or try to flip or give away to a reader or something. No, it's a rather typical well-used NA, with a hefty 325,000 miles on the clock to-date that the staff plans on driving until the six-digit odo reads all zeros again. One million miles or bust (or both, most likely).
Procured for the bargain-basement price of $1,600, complete with seat covers that "really do look like muppet pelts" (according to Zach Bowman) and a bondo-filled love tap on the nose, the NA Miata actually looks like just the sort of fun-machine that a real driving enthusiast would pick up to get some cheap thrills in. The R&T team already has some interesting plans for the Miata, including a potential run up Pikes Peak and loaning it out to readers (or perhaps your author...). Click through to read all about it.
