1979 Jeep Cj5 V8 4wd With 4" Rough Country Lift on 2040-cars

Purchased this custom CJ5 in 2008 as a frame-off rebuild, but never got the chance to do anything with it besides ride into town a few times (tires still have fuzzies on them!). 4" Rough Country lift on it, 304 cu. V8 3-speed, chrome Holly carb, 33" Pro Comp off-road tires, diamond plate rear corners & footplates, Willy's tailgate, chrome front bumper with fog lights (not wired) and cd player with removable faceplate. I haven't started it since last August & couldn't get it to turn over the other day (probably needs a new starter but the battery could just be weak) and I don't have the time to work on it, so I'm selling. It's been sitting under a tarp for almost a year & is a bit dirty, but not in terrible shape at all. Slight rust on the chrome wheels, a scratch on the hood (see pic) & a little rust on the dash & the floor, but otherwise decent shape. If I were keeping I'd replace the seat covers, new starter & put a steering brace in. Available to show in Norwalk CT. No reserve & buyer responsible for transporting vehicle from Norwalk, Ct. With a little work this could be a great off-road rig, but nice looking enough to drive around town in.

2014 Jeep Cherokee will keep Liberty designation in China... sort of
Wed, 17 Apr 2013Chinese buyers will get their first live look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee during the Shanghai Motor Show, but CarNewsChina is reporting that it will go by a different name - Ziyou Guan, which translates to "Liberty Light." The article states that our Jeep Liberty was never sold in China, but the iconic XJ Cherokee was sold and produced there as the Qinuoji (a phonetic translation of Cherokee).
The new Jeep Liberty Light will be built alongside the Fiat Viaggio (China's Fiat-badged version of the Dodge Dart) at the Guangzhou-Fiat plant, and the two models will share the same powertrains: a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder base engine paired to a five-speed manual or a dual-clutch transmission and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder (the base engine for the US-spec 2014 Cherokee) as an optional engine. It doesn't sound like the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 will be offered in China.

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.
Jeep Wrangler by Vilner takes extreme luxury off-road
Mon, 20 Jan 2014Vilner turned its customary and intensely luxurious attentions to a two-door Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited back in 2012, following that up this year with its take on the four-door version. A coat of lustrous black paint outside is brightened up LED headlights, foglights and taillights and layers of chrome laid on the grille, mirrors, door handles and fuel filler cap.
Stance gets an injection of brawn from the 20-inch wheels, and they'll roll faster thanks to the power upgrade from 197 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque in the 2.8-liter diesel to 257 hp and 412 lb-ft.
Inside is furious red, with cross-stitched crimson leather and Alcantara demanding your focus. When you can look away from that, you'll find the raw metal parts painted black and again ornamented in minor applications of chrome. Feel free to feast on it in the high-res gallery above.
