Your are bidding on an original 1931 Ford 2dr. Deluxe Phaeton.  This is not a cut down sedan.  I purchased this car because my '32 Roadster was too small and this looked like the solution to my problem. When I started to build it as a hotrod I found out the rarity of this body style.  It is the last ( I believe) wood framed body by Murrey.  I removed all of the wood, except the doors and replaced it with steel.  The subframe is 1 x 4 steel tubing made for the original wood pattern.  The B pillars were reproduced  in steel using all the original latching points. All of the rust issues have been repaired, this is a rust free car.  The patch panels were made at a restoration shop that had a 180A in for 100 point restoration.  There are new Albright Towing rear fenders and new Rootlieb running boards.  The front fenders are replacements and do need some attention.  After completion of the build (last photo) I drove Faye to Bonneville and pushed a 500cc Lakester to a Worlds Record 182+mph. After hitting a tree and damaging the T.C.I. chassis I decided to return it to its original roots and put the body on its original frame that I had kept. It came with the rolling running gear with mechanical brakes, torque tube (no engine or trans) and what I believe are '35 16" wheels.

The dash has been replaced with a '40 Ford, but can be removed.  I have misplaced the original radiator and steering column/wheel; therefore, the hood and radiator shroud are just for photo purposes.  I have the original convertible top mounting parts but nothing else for the top. I do not have the rear valance, I traded it for a pair of door skins, which will go with the car.  I have the replacement floor that can also be included, if desired.

Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!

Ford Mondeo classes up with premium Vignale trim

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Back in the day, Vignale was a carrozzeria of the highest order, alongside the likes of Pininfarina, Bertone and Zagato. But like Giugiaro-ItalDesign and Ghia, it has since been subsumed into a larger auto group. Ford ended up with it under its umbrella when it took over De Tomaso, and has since used the moniker for a number of concept cars. Now the name is back in the form of a new upscale sub-brand for the European market.
The first new model to receive the Vignale treatment is the Mondeo, which Ford unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show in both sedan and wagon forms. Positioned above the Titanium trim, the Vignale model gets such special touches as chrome trim and a quilted leather interior, Vignale badges replacing any mention of the Mondeo on which it's based. It also gains an ownership experience - including free car washes for life! - to befit the upscale positioning.
Under the bright spotlights above the show floor, the Nocciola metallic brown paint might not be the most photogenic, but will likely give the Vignale edition a more premium look when it hits European dealers and roads in 2015. Whether it'll be worth however much Ford asks for it, however, remains to be seen. Scroll down below for the official press release.

2015 Ford Mustang Convertible shown on Twitter [UPDATE w/video]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It hasn't yet been 12 hours since the hotly anticipated 2015 Ford Mustang has been let out into public view. After a series of evocative leaks over the course of the last days, we brought you a full deep dive of the sixth-generation pony car at the dawning of today. And yet, here we are rushing to bring you news of a new Mustang variant, already.
Be it part of a plan to keep the Mustang fervor at full boil, or a misunderstood email somewhere in the chain of command, Ford UK has unceremoniously tweeted a picture of the 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. For a newly global Mustang, getting our first look at the droptop from the convertible-crazy British does make some amount of sense.
As for details, well, you're looking at them. Brandon Turkus reported yesterday that the Mustang 'vert would make use of a fully electric convertible mechanism, and that it would be of fabric construction rather than some kind of retractable hardtop. We see here that the fabric part is clearly true, and it does look as though Ford may still be employing the same kind of manually attached tonneau cover that exists right now. Of course, our view from this angle isn't great, and the particulars are still up in the air.
