  • In this auction, we have up for bid 1 original paint 1968 Shortbed Step Side Truck.  This truck is plain Jane, no power steering, no power brakes, radio delete, no air conditioning. Originally a 3 speed on the column.  Converted to a 70's truck 3 speed overdrive top loader style transmission.  I purchased this truck from Austin, Texas off of ebay.  95% rust free truck.  Unfortunately, hood flew open on me so the hood is very badly damaged but you get original hood and a good replacement hood.  Truck needs to be trailered because off tires and recently as developed a small leak in top of radiator.  If you put tires on it and fix small hole in radiator.  This truck has a dent in every panel except for tailgate.  You could drive it anywhere.  Have any questions, feel free to call me.  319-721-2208.  I hate to sell, but I cannot take of this truck.  I don't have space. This truck would make a great Rad Rod Hot Rod project.
  • THIS IS AN ORIGINAL FORD PART AND FORD PARTS FIT FORDS THE BEST. Please check my other auctions for hard to find FORD parts.  Selling on E-Bay is not free. I have to pay a listing fee then I have to pay a commission based upon the final sale price of the item and then E-Bay again charges me another commission on the shipping costs. They want sellers to ship items for free. If I where selling baseball cards I would do that. I am selling heavy auto parts and cannot absorb the shipping costs. My parts are listed at a very fair start price and there are no shenanigans like others do. They will go for what they go for regardless. That is a TRUE auction.
  • Shipping and handling will be determined by shipping address. Other countries will be determined by shipping address.  Shipping 1-7 days.
  • Payment must be received within 10 days or part will be relisted. Please include your item number with your payment. PAYPAL IS ACCEPTED.
  • NO PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED.
  • Thanks for Bidding and Good Luck!!!

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

Ford adding stop-start to all major model lines

Sun, 24 Nov 2013

Ford has gone all-in on its efforts to offer most of its new vehicles with a fuel-efficient EcoBoost engine, but the automaker is reportedly preparing to take another big step toward improving vehicle efficiency. Automotive News is reporting that Ford will soon expand the availability of start-stop technology, which was first offered - presumably the first non-hybrid vehicle, that is - on the 2013 Fusion (equipped with the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine) as a $295 option.
The benefit of start-stop is reduced fuel consumption as it shuts the engine off at long stops, and AN quotes Ford as saying that drivers can save more than $1,000 on fuel costs over five years. Despite this, the option hasn't been popular on the Fusion thus far, but it could be more beneficial on bigger vehicles like the F-150. Ford also said that the next-gen Edge, which was previewed in concept form at the LA Auto Show, will be equipped with auto start-stop to help make the EcoBoost engines even more efficient.

Motor Trend pits Subaru WRX vs. Ford Focus ST

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

The Ford Focus ST has enjoyed a relatively calm, if brief, reign in the world of hot hatches. With nothing else in the class (in the States, at least) but the aging Mazdaspeed3 and Subaru Impreza WRX and the slow-selling Volkswagen Golf R, the Blue Oval's 252-horsepower five door has been the go-to vehicle for those that don't need the high-octane lunacy (and expense) of the rally bred Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
Now, though, as the new Subaru WRX (it's not an Impreza anymore, though, neither is it a hatchback...) starts to arrive at dealers, the Focus ST appears to be under threat for the first time. Naturally, Motor Trend is here to figure out which one is the best, with another one of its Head 2 Head videos. Host Jonny Lieberman puts both cars through their paces, going above and beyond, quite literally, at the very end of the video.
