2001 Ford Excursion Limited Edition.Good condition truck, runs and drives isreally good and strong, with low actual only 137kmiles on it. All power: PDL,PW, PCL, HS, 2WD, 4WD high & low, leather, alarm, rear park sensors. Truckrolling on M+S 305/50R20 chrome rims with about 80% tread left of Good Yeartires on it, good for another at least 2 seasons (Originally paid $2600 for therims and tires). 10v engine works really quite like new, almost can't hearthe engine how it works when it's on, transmission works really smooth too.I didn't drive much this Truck in snow, but it's really really good init. No warning lights or mechanical problems (will pass a State inspection).Extra upgrades and work been done to the vehicle: new battery, new manifoldseals on both sides, roof racks, new truck floor mats set and seat covers. LEDHalo Projector Angel Eyes Headlights, Excursion Black Tail Lights, Nitro Chip, 2screens 9' DVDs, engine oil just being changed with new oil and airfilters. Four Wheeler crowns Ultimate Factory 4x4... who wins?
Thu, 15 Nov 2012Nearly every automaker doing business in the SUV or pickup truck segments offers a package designed to improve the off-road capabilities of its wares. But, of course, not all such factory kits are created equal. How, then, to separate the wheat from the chaff? Gather each of them up and put them through their paces, naturally.
The folks from Four Wheeler and PickupTrucks.com joined forces to run just such a comparison test, with the winner named the Ultimate Factory 4x4. A total of seven vehicles showed up to the fight: the 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, 2012 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X and Xterra PRO-4X, 2012 Ram Power Wagon, and 2012 Toyota 4Runner Trail and Tacoma TRD T|X Baja Series.
With the contestants in place, the whole crew put each vehicle through a battery of tests that included skidpad and acceleration measurements, a hillclimb, a rocky stairstep course and a rock garden. Considering the nature of the beasts, on-road ride and comfort were not part of the routine.

Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.
