1977 Ford Bronco - Ranger Package on 2040-cars

Year:1977 Mileage:119000

Bend, Oregon, United States

Up for auction is a mostly original 1977 Ford Bronco with the Ranger package.  I am the third owner of this Bronco.  The original owner purchased the vehicle in Lakewood Colorado and sold it in 2008.  The second owner only had it for a short time before I bought it.  The Bronco comes with the original sales receipt which shows the dealer installed Stroppe roll bar, Stroppe cactus smasher, and hurricane style aluminum wheels.  The original owner had the motor and transmission re-built around 103,000 miles.  This is my fourth early Bronco and this one runs and drives great.  I recently took a 400 mile trip without any issues.  I would drive this Bronco anywhere.

The Bronco has factory installed power disk brakes, power steering, and automatic transmission.  The original paint shows like new in many places but does have some fading on the hood and upper left rear quarter panel.  There is minimal rust at the inner kick panels but nothing major that needs repair.  The seats show wear from 36 years of use but are still in good overall condition.  The rear seat looks like new.  The carpet is clean with no major stains.  The Ranger package has the headliner, rear quarter panels, cloth door panels, carpet with sound barrier pad below, swing away rear tire carrier, and outside mirrors on both sides.  The driver side mirror has an interior remote control.  I removed the leaking front auxiliary gas tank.  I will include the filler nozel, sending unit, skid plate, and tank straps.  I would guess the fenders were cut in the 1980's.  Other than the cut fenders, aluminum radiator, and a few new seals, this Bronco is just as it was purchased in July of 1977.  The tires are 31" Falcon's with approximately 75% tread left.  Four high and low both work fine, all gauges and lights work properly.  This is a great Bronco that anyone would be proud to own.

Take a look at the pictures and email me with any questions.  I would be happy to show you the Bronco if you can make it to Bend, Oregon.  I have the Bronco for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.  I set the reserve at a reasonable price, please do not ask what it is.

Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

Ford Mondeo classes up with premium Vignale trim

Wed, 11 Sep 2013

Back in the day, Vignale was a carrozzeria of the highest order, alongside the likes of Pininfarina, Bertone and Zagato. But like Giugiaro-ItalDesign and Ghia, it has since been subsumed into a larger auto group. Ford ended up with it under its umbrella when it took over De Tomaso, and has since used the moniker for a number of concept cars. Now the name is back in the form of a new upscale sub-brand for the European market.
The first new model to receive the Vignale treatment is the Mondeo, which Ford unveiled here at the Frankfurt Motor Show in both sedan and wagon forms. Positioned above the Titanium trim, the Vignale model gets such special touches as chrome trim and a quilted leather interior, Vignale badges replacing any mention of the Mondeo on which it's based. It also gains an ownership experience - including free car washes for life! - to befit the upscale positioning.
Under the bright spotlights above the show floor, the Nocciola metallic brown paint might not be the most photogenic, but will likely give the Vignale edition a more premium look when it hits European dealers and roads in 2015. Whether it'll be worth however much Ford asks for it, however, remains to be seen. Scroll down below for the official press release.

2015 Ford Mustang to offer solid-rear axle, sort of

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

One of the biggest knocks against the last Ford Mustang was its solid-rear axle. Not one to actively court criticism, Ford dutifully swapped out the old-fashioned rear end for something a bit more modern in the redesigned 2015 Mustang, adding an independent rear suspension across the board.
While an IRS Mustang is great news for those that value handling and ride comfort, there's one big group that it's bad news for - drag racers. See, a solid-rear axle is a big deal for drag racers, because not only is it more durable and cheaper, but it's better for the hard launches that can make or break a race.
To satiate this vocal demographic, Ford will sell a body-in-white version of the Stang, complete with a nine-inch rear axle, that will debut at the 2014 Performance Racing Industry show. The news came from gas2.org, which cited an unnamed employee of Ford Racing at this year's PRI show.

Creations n' Chrome Top Notch Mustang is a one-of-a-kind fox

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Is there a cooler car from the 1980s and early 90s to mod than a Fox-body Ford Mustang? No, there isn't. If you disagree with us, we suggest you have a look at this 1990 Mustang Coupe, which just might change your mind. Although considering just how extensively modified this car - the Top Notch Mustang from Creations n' Chrome - is, we wonder just how much Ford is left in this old pony.
It rides on a custom race tube chassis that weighs a scant 700 pounds, while carbon-fiber bits and bobs help lower the overall curb weight to a mere 2,400 pounds. When paired with supercharged, 5.0-liter, Aluminator V8 from Ford Racing, the results are, doubtlessly, exciting. 855 horsepower at the rear wheels and 667 pound-feet of torque are available from that force-fed V8 should be just plenty for this car's intended purpose of running in standing-mile competitions.
The Top Notch Mustang is more extreme than just weight savings and a big engine, though. That 5.0-liter is essentially in what's known as a front-mid layout - where the engine is actually behind the front axle. In this case, the 5.0-liter V8 is 17 inches further back than a factory Fox-body, for better weight distribution. As a result, the cabin has been completely overhauled. An SLA front suspension, wheels from HRE, Wilwood brakes and Sparco interior items round out the extensive list of mods.
