I bought a truck at the end of...

I bought a truck at the end of march the very next day the salesman call and says it will smoke a little because it set alll winter.Me not knowing anything said ok and now 3500 miles later replacing engine.Yes i know I bought as is but why would he call me unless he knew something. Also inspection sticker was put on truck by the place across street with no brake pads so I replace rotors and pads.
