Make sure you get a written estimate-

These guys were in my neighborhood so I gave them a try for a basic service. They replaced my brake rotors and brakes without calling for permission. the bill was over $700, when I complained, they said that since I told them I was going on a trip they thought it would be prudent. Yet, they should have called me. They ended up giving me a 15% discount, but still- I was miffed.
