2008 Saturn Sky Red Line *Black with red interior* 5 speed manual

You are looking at a gorgeous, breath-taking 2008 Saturn Sky 2.0 Turbo (Redline) convertible sports car. Red/Black interior with 5 speed manual transmission. The best combo you could get!

Condition: Excellent
The car is in excellent overall condition for the mileage and year… the paint still has that “brand new looking car" effect (most have a hard time believing it’s an '08). It was garage kept throughout winter. Of course, I can’t say the car is “perfect” as there are a few minor imperfections (will post detailed photos shortly) but it’s in amazing overall shape. I wash this car once a week and wax it once a month. Just by looking at it, you can tell it was well cared for.

Mileage: 71,XXX (and counting as I still drive this car daily… with a big smile :) Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 full synthetic. 93 premium octane always used. Car starts up and runs great. Always got me everywhere without any issues. These cars are bulletproof if you take care of them and perform the recommended maintenances.  I have receipts for all oil changes (which were performed by Chevrolet certified service) while in my ownership.

Unique extras that separate this sky from many others:
Heated Seats           $600 installed
Factory Approved GMPP Tune        $830 installed
Magnaflow 4-TIP quad exhaust system   $1,050 installed
(makes this car sound extremely powerful)
Greddy blow off valve   $350 installed
Dejon Intercooler piping  $395 installed
Dejon Cold Air intake   $295 installed
Exhaust cut out plate    $250 installed
OEM wind deflector      $208 retail
EcoMeter gauge MPG/MPH/RPM   $120 retail
Convertible top protectant/cleaner included $40 retail
Candy apple red painted calipers
Custom sport-special branding
Transformer edition theme
BRAND NEW TIRES INSTALLED @ 68,000 miles  $570 installed
Over $4,000 in extras is included with this car. In addition to those extras, keep in mind that this sky has all the PREMIUM OPTIONS (leather, monsoon audio, chrome rims, rear spoiler, etc).
Stock horsepower on the sky redline is 260. This one is running between 300-350 which makes it one of the most powerful sky’s out there.

Take a look at what this auction went for:   2008 sky redline with a comparable 60,000 miles:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Saturn-Sky-Red-Line-2008-saturn-sky-red-line-convertible-turbo-low-miles-leathe-/131152751779?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1e89502ca3&item=131152751779&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

Auction ended at $16,328… and that’s WITHOUT heated seats, factory original tune, upgraded exhaust, and other extras.

The only reason I am selling this car is because sometimes I find myself needing more room. The 2 seater is fun but obviously not too practical! On the flip side, the sheer beauty of this car makes up for just about everything else. I cannot tell you how many times people have complimented this car. When I tell people it’s a Saturn, their jaw drops in disbelief. In my opinion, you CANNOT buy a better looking car for the price of this masterpiece. One day, it will be a collector’s item… it’s just a matter of time!

Please contact me with any questions. Pick-up or shipping is available at buyer expense. Test drives/inspections welcome with cash in hand.

Note: While this vehicle is offered for "sale," I am in no rush to sell it. If it won't sell for the asking price, I will consider keeping it.

Thanks for viewing my listing!

GM Recalling Another 2.7 Million Vehicles In Five Separate Campaigns

Thu, May 15 2014

The recalls keep rolling in from General Motors, evidently keen to avoid repeating the mistakes of the ignition-switch debacle and clean house. This time they're all coming at once, with five separate recalls announced together covering approximately 2.7 million vehicles. The largest of the five actions involves over 2.4 million units of the previous-generation Chevrolet Malibu and Malibu Maxx, Pontiac G6 and Saturn Aura in order to fix brake light wiring harness, which have been found to be susceptible to corrosion. The recall is separate from the 56k Aura sedans which GM recently recalled over faulty shift cables, not to mention the previous massive recall of 1.3 million vehicles – some of them the same models – but appears to have resulted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation that started with the G6 almost a year ago. The second-largest campaign involves the 2014 Chevy Malibu, specifically those fitted with GM's 2.5-liter engine and stop/start system, approximately 140,000 examples of which has been found to have problematic brakes. The issue does not appear to be connected to the recall of 8k Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans (also involving brake woes) which we reported upon last week. Four crashes have been reported in such models, but GM admits it's not yet clear if the problem was a contributing factor in the accidents. A further 112k Corvette models from the 2005-2007 model years are being called in for problems with their low-beam headlamps resulting from a flexing relay control circuit wire that's not meant to bend. GM says it is "aware of several hundred complaints" about this issue, but notes that there have been no reports of related accidents. In addition, over 19k examples of Cadillac CTS from the 2013 and 2014 model years are being recalled over windshield wipers that might not work after a jump start. Finally, GM is also bringing in 477 examples of its 2014 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe and GMC Sierra (though not the Yukon) to fix a problem with a tie rod in its steering rack. As ever, all recall repairs will be performed free of charge, and GM is now estimating that recall-related actions this quarter will result in an estimated $200-million charge against its second-quarter earnings. GM isn't liable for punitive damages in ignition switch cases

Wed, Nov 20 2019

NEW YORK — A federal appeals court said General Motors is not liable for punitive damages over accidents that occurred after its 2009 bankruptcy and involved vehicles it produced earlier, including vehicles with faulty ignition switches. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said on Tuesday that the automaker did not agree to contractually assume liability for punitive damages as part of its federally-backed Chapter 11 reorganization. GM filed for bankruptcy in June 2009, and its best assets were transferred to a new Detroit-based company with the same name. The other assets and many liabilities stayed with "Old GM," which is also known as Motors Liquidation Co. Tuesday's 3-0 decision may help GM reduce its ultimate exposure in nationwide litigation over defective ignition switches in several Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn models. It is also a defeat for drivers involved in post-bankruptcy accidents, including those who collided with older GM vehicles driven by others, as well as their law firms. The ignition switch defect could cause engine stalls and keep airbags from deploying, and has been linked to 124 deaths. A lawyer for the drivers and their law firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment. GM had no comment. Circuit Judge Dennis Jacobs said GM's agreement to acquire assets "free and clear" of most liabilities excused it from punitive damages claims for Old GM's conduct. He also noted that the judge who oversaw the bankruptcy concluded that the new company could not be liable for claims that the "deeply insolvent" Old GM would never have paid. The decision upheld a May 2018 ruling by U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan, who oversees the ignition switch litigation. Drivers have sought a variety of damages in that litigation, including for declining resale values. GM has recalled more than 2.6 million vehicles since 2014 over ignition switch problems. It has also paid more than $2.6 billion in related penalties and settlements, including $900 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice criminal case. The case is In re: Motors Liquidation Co, 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 18-1940. Government/Legal Chevrolet Pontiac Saturn Safety gm ignition switch

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

Tue, 17 Aug 2010

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
