Super clean 1967 Pontiac Tempest Custom. Basically an original bone stock survivor car, original drivetrain and interior in fantastic condition! Originally a Florida car which soon moved to Oregon, it is rock solid and has no serious rust issues. Car collectors call cars from Oregon "Oregon Gold" since they are not subject to winter road salt or extreme sunny hot temperatures.
Features:
High Line factory "Custom" package includes lots of chrome trim and upgrades.
Power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning.
4 door body style, great for the whole family. HUGE trunk ideal for luggage, shopping trips, tailgate parties or the mother-in-law ;)
Classic gold interior and headliner looks fantastic! Interior is 97% original and like new condition. Newer Alpine stereo with Sirius radio!>
Original 326 V8 with 2 barrel Rochester carb and automatic transmission, runs great on regular gas and gets a very decent 20+ mpg highway!
Pontiac Rally II wheels and the white letter tires have deep tread like new. Spare tire in the trunk is new. Odometer presently reads "08799.0", so we feel safe to say it has 108, 799 miles and 0/10ths on it. The engine numbers (heads, block) do match the production year and shows no sign of ever being removed, rebuilt or "hot rodded". It's pretty much a bone stock orginal 326 Pontiac V8. Muffler is new and similar to a Flow-Master, quiet but a nice low throaty V8 tone.
This car is a great driver and lots of fun. It's not a pristine show car, but it is a very clean daily driver. We take it to the drive-in movies, car shows, shopping trips, church and Sunday breakfast out, beach trips, the 4th of July fireworks and even the occasional commute to work. Very reliable! Ready for a coast to coast road trip right now, just turn the key and go. It's an old car with lots of room under the hood so it is easy to work on for routine service like oil changes and tune ups.
Like all older cars, there are a few things you probably want to be aware of:
The car has factory installed Air Conditioning and it does work but it eventually leaks down on freon. Probably needs a new compressor (about $250-$350).
The paint is beautiful in an old car kind of way. It does have that nice aged patina and warm golden glow only a vintage car can have. It also has it's share of scratches and dings. Instead of going with a new paint job, we decided to keep the original paint and had her pinstriped by the legendary striper Big Chris in 2011. Looks sharp and gets lots of compliments and "thumbs up" when driving.
Please contact me if you'd like to see the car in person for a test drive, need more pictures, info etc. Thanks for looking!

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM
Fri, 16 Oct 2009Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial
Sat, 16 Mar 2013
The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
eBay Find of the Day: 1967 Pontiac GTO Monkeemobile
Sun, 29 Apr 2012Say what you will about The Monkees, but the guys in the band had great taste in automobiles. Take the Monkeemobile, for example. Built off a 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible, the custom featured genuinely interesting bodywork and some wild engine bolt-ons. If you're a fan of 1960s pop and yearn to relive the genre's glory days, eBay Motors may have what you need. A recreation of the 1967 Monkeemobile has showed up for auction. This particular replica was built by Dakota County Customs using an four-speed GTO, just like the original.
Built for the band's 45th anniversary and the final Monkees tour last year, this Monkeemobile is faithful down to every last detail. Unfortunately, the trumpet exhaust poking out of the front fender wells and the massive gold-flake blower are for show only. Seems fitting.
If you like what you see, this machine is up for bid in Richfield, Minnesota with two days left on the auctions. So far, bidding as whipped up to $60,000 with the reserve not met. Head over to eBay Motors to have a look.
