North Las Vegas, Nevada, United States

Hello everyone!

Today we have a Rust free 1970 Pontiac Catalina 2 door coupe up for grabs! @ No reserve, It's a California Car!!

It's in great shape runs and drives well and has a 389 Pontiac engine.

The Engine is a 389 V8, Pontiac engine. That runs strong and has 67k miles on it, it Is a 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts well with pwr steering, prw disk brakes, and A/c

The paint is in Very good shape with only a few minor scratches. It shines like a brand new penny. The top has no rips or tares in it but Is a little faded do to the west coast sun. nothing a nice leather treatment wouldn't fix.

The interior is very clean and only has a rip in the carpet on the driver side, And 1 minor tare in the leather on the driver door(see pictures)the back seat is in great shape and has no rips tears, Or stains. The dash is in good shape with no cracking, And the doors all align As well as the hood. The body is in great shape and is perfectly straight with no dents with all its original body panels. The chrome on the bumpers are not bubbled or scratched or faded. 99% of the chrome is there and it only needs 1 piece.(see window pucture) this car is as close to perfect as it  gets for a car of its age!

What it needs to the best of my knowledge: idle arm(for stearing) Wich does not affect the ability to drive straight or turn, but only puts a small amount of play in the wheel.

An overflow reservoir for the radiator. A $100 fix at the most And does not effect the cars ability to cool itself, Run, or drive.

The tachometer needs to be fixed as it somehow became disconnected. Seeing as it is an automatic I would not worry to much about it.

Hood brackets. The ones on it still work but are old. The springs for them are present and in the trunk but not currently installed. That said the hood still opens and closes perfectly.

As you can see the car only has very minor issues and is in great shape with no rust on the body or floors. And has a California title.

if you have any questions about the car, or would like to come buy and look at it and take it for a test drive, or to make an offer and buy this car now, feel free to call any time.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero

Fri, 26 Oct 2012

At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."

General Lee takes on Bandit T/A in classic Hollywood car showdown [w/poll]

Fri, 26 Aug 2011

You don't have to be born in the 1960s or 1970s to be able to recognize the General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard and the Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. These old school four-wheeled stars seem to transcend demographics thanks to the miles of film that show the orange 1969 Dodge Charger and the jet-black 1977 Pontiac Trans Am performing seemingly impossible stunts.
The folks at Hot Rod magazine are obviously hip to this fact, and they put together a fun video in tribute of the instantly recognizable duo. Hit the jump to watch on as Sam Young and James Smith replace Bo Duke and The Bandit for a bit of dirt-road shenanigans in a pair of otherwise well cared for classics. We're not so sure we'd call it the best chase scene ever, but it sure looks like a lot of fun.
More importantly, which of these two cars would you rather own? Have your say in our poll below.
