1995 Mercedes 300D  209k miles

White, with rare grey leather interior, converted to run on WVO or diesel.

This car is non running, so needs to be towed from its current location in FL 33981

So here is the good.

This car was my daily driver till the ip quit. Then I decided to go through everything and I started out with replacing all glow plugs. While they were out I checked compression, the values were 380 to 400 PSI all across. Next I installed new Bozio injectors for $450

Then my job relocated me to Seattle and I had to stop working on it.

The car originally came form Los Angeles and I bought it in the Midwest. So it has no rust besides some superficial. Its paint is original and still quite nice but will need a good wax. The body is straight and never been in an accident while I owned it or that I can tell. It has a hitch and I towed my jet ski with it. Would not want to tow anything large with this car. The interior is very clean with only a few blemishes.

Tranny shifts  like it should, and the tires are also still decent all around.

The bad, as I said earlier it needs to be towed from its current location. And there are a few things missing. Like the gas tank and maybe a bolt or bracket. I tried to keep everything together, but a few minor things might have gone missing. Just want to point that out.

To bring it back to running condition will require a gas tank and a ip installed and a few odds and ends so it should not be too big of a project for somebody who knows how to work on these older Mercedes.

Please note that at time of pick up the payment will be in cash and  the car is sold as is.

The only form of payment accepted will be cash.

Upon  auction winning please send via paypal $200.00 within 1 day  which is non refundable but credited towards purchase price. Pickup of the car must be within 5 days unless other arrangements are made with me via phone conversation.

Remainder payable in cash upon picking up of the car.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact me and I will try to answer as clear and accurate as possible. Please also look at the pics closely as to its condition.

Also the car can be inspected prior to auction end at any time.  Just  make arrangements with me ahead of time.

Happy bidding J

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class presentation leaked, debuting in May

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

WorldCarFans was reportedly sent what looks like a dealer presentation on the coming V222 series 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. There have been hints for years as to the kinds of technology the world's best-selling large luxury sedan will contain, and it appears those hints had some foundation. To be shown in Germany on May 15 before a launch window that runs from September to November this year, the evolutionary design will be built of aluminum and steel, using that lighter material for the front end, roof and "detached body parts."
Among the new options buyers will be able to choose are the Rear Seat Package with rear seatbelt airbags and active buckles that extend, a Warmth and Comfort Package with heated seats front and back, heated armrests and side panels, and power rear seats with active ventilation and memory function. There's a chauffeur seating option that comes with 10-way adjustable rear seats, an extendable footrest and folding tables in the front seatbacks.
Blatant technology will be on display via two 12.3-inch screens, one for the dash cluster and one for the COMAND infotainment screen on the instrument panel. The third generation of Nightview Assist Plus will be able to detect animals as well as humans, and the next generation of Surround View will provide high-res views all around the car. A touchpad and a color head-up display will arrive in 2015. It will be the first Mercedes-Benz to utilize LED lighting everywhere, inside and outside the car.

Ecclestone wonders if F1's upcoming turbo V6s should get augmented sound [w/videos]

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

While every team on the Formula One grid is worried about making a good showing in this year's championship at the same time as they develop a brand-new car for next year's championship, Bernie Ecclestone and F1 circuit promoters have a different concern: how next year's cars will sound. The current cars use 2.4-liter, naturally-aspirated V8s that can reach 18,000 revolutions per minute and employ dual exhaust, next year's engine formula calls for 1.4-liter turbocharged V6s that are capped at 15,000 rpm and are constrained to a single exhaust outlet. Ecclestone and promoters like Ron Walker believe the new engines sound like lawnmowers and that the less thrilling audio will keep people from coming to races. If Walker's Australian Grand Prix really is shelling out almost $57 million to hold the race, every ticket counts. As a fix, according to a report in Autoweek, Ecclestone "suggests that the only way to guarantee [a good sound] may be to artificially adjust the tone of the V6s."
However, neither the manufacturers nor the governing body of F1, the FIA, think there will be a problem. Ecclestone fears that if the manufacturers "don't get it right" they'll simply leave the sport, but the only three carmakers and engine builders left next year, Renault (its 2014 "power unit" is pictured), Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari are so embedded that it would stretch belief to think they'd leave the table over an audio hiccup - if said hiccup even occurs. And frankly, these issues always precede changes to engine formulas, as they did when the formula switched from V10 to V8; fans, though, are probably less focused on the engines and more on the mandated standardization of the sport and the spec-series overtones that have come with it.
No one knows yet what next year's engines will sound like, but we've assembled a few videos below to help us all start guessing. The first is an engine check on an Eighties-era John Player Special Renault with a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, after that is Ayrton Senna qualifying in 1986 in the Lotus 98T that also had a 1.5-liter V6 turbo, then you'll find a short with a manufactured range of potential V6 engine notes, and then the sound of turbocharged V6 Indycars testing last year at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Any, or none of them, could be Formula One's future.
