The  "Green Envy"  ~ nothing pains me more than to let her go. A real original car with lots of custom touches. This car is From Texas and has never seen a salty road. I had it shipped to me 10 years ago and never take it out in winter. The 460 V8 sounds good with the dual exhaust... the car looks like no other I have seen. I get more compliments on this car than more people do in their top dollar sports car. Everyone is a fan, old and young. 24" rims purchased last year and had them painted custom to match. I do not drive it often and they still are like new. the chrome trim shines to compliment the large rims that fit this huge car perfectly. The hub caps never did this car it's justice. It does have a working alarm and a locking gas cap. Electric bench seat works. Has a CD player that actually is a DVD player with a drop down screen. It also plays CDs of course. There is an outlet to plug in A/C power... I did at one point have a PS2 in the glove box hooked up, easy to do... Nice dash with lots of detail. Old cars are the best when it comes to details. There are a couple light scratches that should buff out, I have many pics but you really cant even see them because they are not deep- very light. The drivers side window is not working with the motor but the motor does work. someone just needs to take the panel off and figure it out. I never drive in bad weather so it really does not matter- you can lift the window by hand and it will stay put however high or low you put it. I had the front bumper rechromed and remounted and it did scuff the rubberish thing that goes under it a bit, no one ever notices it (there are pics) oh and a tear in the headliner in the rear. material is there im sure it could be sewn or touched up (in the pics) Power locks are not working -- just trying to point out the few minor flaws. I had all the trim that surrounds the taillights painted green to match the car rather than the black that comes stock on all of them no matter the color. New top because the old one was white and did not match... basically the pics say it all. Look them over. A very impressive looking car. The interior is not mint but is original and in very good condition. I can't think up anything else at the moment good or bad. This is a big beautiful car!  I have described this car well- any questions just ask. I can assure you that I love this car and will hate to see it go. I just never get to enjoy it and always have to pay for storage in the winter and it takes garage space and all else that goes with having a toy like this. Trust me I will lose money on this sale.

-- I am not new to ebay even though I have low feedback. I cannot get on my old account because the password was changed and I can't figure out how to get on it. "Frugalshopper815" is my old account with lots of feedback.

Lincoln's $5B revival bid hinges upon new D6 chassis

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

It's no secret that Lincoln has received short shrift from the Ford Motor Company for years, and former CEO Alan Mullay even wanted to kill the whole thing off when he ran things. Today, things appear to be trending in a different direction. Fresh investment has helped enable a sizable marketing push for its well-regarded MKC compact crossover, a couple of awards for the company and plant the seeds for a major expansion into China. While the situation is still in the early going, it looks like Lincoln is on a tentative (if long) path towards a turnaround. If new reports are accurate, the brand is poised to build on that momentum with its largest investment in new products in years thanks in large measure to a new modular platform codenamed D6.
According to four unnamed insiders speaking to Reuters, FoMoCo is investing over $5 billion over the next five years, partially to create a new modular platform to underpin multiple Lincoln vehicles - and possibly some Ford products, too. Development is reportedly being overseen by the division's new boss, Kumar Galhotra. At the moment, specific details about the D6 chassis aren't yet known, but it's rumored to have the flexibility to support front-, rear- and all-wheel drive vehicles. According to Reuters, the first model using the framework could be an MKZ replacement and seven-passenger MKT successor in 2019.
Until the D6-based models hit, expect to see continued expansion from Lincoln. Ford management isn't trying to turn around the division overnight and is planning "in terms of generations of products," according to current CEO Mark Fields. The strategy unsurprisingly includes a production version of Lincoln's recent MKX Concept, as well as an all-new Navigator using aluminum-intensive architecture. Reuters also claims the MKS is due for renewal in the meantime, including with a longer-wheelbase version to appeal to the brand's new Chinese buyers.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.

Lincoln takes to the Super Bowl with Twitter schizophrenia

Fri, 01 Feb 2013

Lincoln has officially pulled off the wraps on its ad for this year's Super Bowl. As you may recall, the company invited people to send in their tweets to help craft the spot's story line with Jimmy Fallon in the director's chair. The company chose five tweets and ran with them, and the result is, well, about as focused as your average online comment thread. We do get plenty of shots of the all-new Lincoln MKZ, as well as at least one comment on the interior leather's suppleness.
Do we learn a single thing about the brand's new honey? Nope. But there's a turtle crossing, a band of bikers, a German farming student and herd of alpacas. Mostly, the ad just makes us tired. You can check out the full spot before it airs during the big game by watching it below. We'll be busy preparing for the alpacalypse.
AOL Autos' associate editor Peter Bigelow went deeper in his criticism. Have a read: Lincoln's Super Bowl Ad is A Flop.
