 Interior: Factory Code “80” (Burgandy)

**THE INTERIOR OF THIS CAR WAS JUST RESTORED AT A COST OF $10,000 NOT INCLUDING LABOR!! (See photo of invoice from upholstery shop)

Restoration of interior from UPHOLSTERY SHOP included the following:

1.    Front seat bottom ALL new foam padding and brand new leather to an exact match of the factory original. This is leather NOT cheapo vinyl. Front seat backs & top & bottom portion of Back seats were so nice that they are just as new but are the factory originals!

2.    Front Power Seat motors were rebuilt/new replacements!

3.    All door panels were re-dyed to exact factory match.

4.    All door panels had new custom stitched carpet restored on panel bottoms with new factory matching plush carpet

5.    New armrests on door panels shrink molded just as factory did.

6.    Door panel wood grain insert covers restored with new wood grain patterns.

7.    New interior plush carpet with new padding etc.

Basically the entire interior was restored at a large expense and looks fantastic!!

Dashboard is in good condition. It does have the typical small crack along left side of speaker grille. Not sure why but nearly All these Lincolns have a crack there? Must have been a design flaw?

In addition to the interior Cost…

We just had ALL windows on the car completely serviced and they work great from ALL switches.

1.    All Glass and window regulators etc. were completely removed from doors, cleaned/ lubricated and reinstalled.

2.    Windows were All adjusted to raise and lower evenly. SEE PHOTO of Car with Top Down but Windows UP. It shows how perfectly even they are when in up position.

3.    Switches were ALL cleaned and or replaced.

This window service was an additional $2,800 in labor/materials.

-Vent fan works, radio works and power antenna goes up and down, as it should.

-A/c needs charged/serviced from lack of use.

 Exterior:

-The paint on the car is the factory “A” Code Black. This car has been repainted in its orig. BLACK color.  Current condition of paint is good. Not concourse show quality but very nice driver. Buyer should expect to see some flaws in paint / minor dings in paint from storage. A few thin spots here and there where buffer went slightly through paint. Car is rust free and solid.

The car was completely disassembled and re-painted. This was NOT masking taped and sprayed….The ENTIRE car was medina blasted inside and out. Primer sealed and then repainted in its original Black color. Bumpers, Grill, Windshield, All trim, Top, etc. were all removed for this process.  You will not see over spray on trim pieces etc. Car was done right and it is not caked with layers of old paint like most of these cars that have quickie re-sprays.

Great gloss shine.  Good driver+ quality. Black is Beautiful!! Nothing better than an ORIGINAL factory BLACK LINCOLN!

Note 1: When the car was restored a N.O.S hood was installed. This hood did not have the hood ornament hole punched. We decided not to install it. I will include the orig. hood ornament in sale for the buyer which can be easily installed by drilling a hole for it.(I think it looks great without it)

Note 2: We have a load photos of the process showing disassembly avail. By request.

     -         Very dry and clean underneath with no rust! (See photos)

-         Chrome on front and rear bumper is driver quality.

-         Door handle chrome is driver quality

-         All Stainless trim on car is in very nice shape

Engine:

This car starts right up easily and runs very strong. Motor sounds great and has plenty of power. Transmission shifts smoothly into all gears and floats down the road. Power steering works great. Can steer car with one finger.  A pleasure to drive!

Engine bay is very clean and well kept/ detailed.(see photos)

Note: This car has not been driven in past years. We have done some mechanical maintenance to the car to get it ready for sale.  It runs great but will still need to be gone thru.

-Just had Tune-Up done to the car including…

-new spark plugs

-new cap & rotor

-new wires

-Fresh Lube, Oil & Filter change last week

-BRAND NEW White Wall Tires installed last week.

 CONVERTIBLE TOP:

Perhaps the most important item on one of these cars is the hydraulic top functions.  This car has just been fully serviced for its top.  Everything was gone thru including relays, pumps, etc.

Everything operates just as it did from the factory.  Top can be raised and lowered with ease and it is quite the site to see!!!

Top material is original style stay fast canvas and is in good condition. Still fits nice and is soft. A few minor pinched spots from raising and lowering but nothing to be concerned about. No tears etc.

Items noted that still need attention…

-High beam light switch sticks

-Pass. Side exhaust manifold gasket is leaking. I will include new gasket with car. (have not had time to have it installed)

-Blinker flasher needs replaced

-a/c Freon serviced

-Some weather strip/moldings here and there are old and a bit brittle.

SUMMARY…All the EXPENSIVE & hard work is done on this car. Still needs some minor areas looked @ but over all… Not many ORIGINAL BLACK Lincolns out there in this shape. No disappointments here. Email me today to get this one before its too late!!!

I have tried to be very detailed and describe all I know about car. Email questions. Thanks!

Check my feedback...      I have sold some of my Lincolns in the past and everyone is always very satisfied as I do my best to accurately describe the car!

 Thanks again and GOOD LUCK

Lincoln Continental death looms with changes at Flat Rock Plant

Tue, Aug 20 2019

Ford's Flat Rock Assembly plant just south of Detroit produces the Ford Mustang and the Lincoln Continental. Automotive News reports that the automaker plans to produce two battery-electric crossovers at the facility, the EVs scheduled for sale in the 2023 model year. The EVs were previously meant to be built in Ford's Cuautitlan Stamping and Assembly plant in Mexico, which builds the Fiesta. According to the AN piece, moving the EVs to Michigan means the end of Lincoln Continental production in the U.S. Sunset is expected in "late 2021" for a sedan that is just three years old, and that never got the momentum to assert itself and reassert the Continental nameplate. The Continental has been on death watch since at least March 2018, when Ford Authority reported that the luxury sedan wouldn't get more than one generation. The changing of several guards in the top ranks scotched a plan to move the Continental onto the CD6 platform for rear- and all-wheel-drive vehicles. In September 2018, Jalopnik put more meat on those crossbones, saying Flat Rock workers alleged the big Lincoln could bid adieu as soon as this year, and automaker insiders had seen production merely scheduled — not approved — for 2020, with nothing beyond that. Then, as now, Ford appears to be leaving open the possibility for Continental production to continue in China, and just maybe be exported here. The two twinned midsized EVs, using the codenames CDX746 and CDX747, would come in Ford and Lincoln flavors. Said to be roughly the size of the Ford Edge/Lincoln Nautilus platform siblings, the automaker has requested suppliers gear up for annual production of up to 65,000 units between the two models. When they arrive, they'll form part of the 16 EVs Ford plans to have on the market worldwide by 2022. The others we know of so far are the crossover that will channel the Mustang, an electric F-150 pickup, and an EV project with Rivian.

2020 Lincoln Aviator pricing can fly sky high: Configurator is up and running

Tue, Jan 22 2019

The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is priced at $52,195 to start, Lincoln announced today as the crossover's configurator went live. Revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show late last year, the Aviator is the newest entry in Lincoln's SUV lineup. It slots in below the Navigator but above the Nautilus. Five different trim levels will be offered at the start, with two powertrain combinations as well. The most expensive Black Label Grand Touring SUV will set you back a cool $88,895. Even the base engine in the Aviator is quite potent. It's a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 making 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The plug-in hybrid version is even more powerful, as it keeps the same gas engine but adds electric power to bring the final tallies to 450 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. Hello Germany, says Lincoln. Lincoln differentiates between the plug-in and normal Aviator with the Grand Touring designation. The cheapest one of these begins at $69,895. That's a hefty price increase compared to the base model, but the power increase plus ability to run an unspecified number of miles on electric only is a pretty hefty benefit. As we take a look at others in the segment, the Lincoln is priced competitively in base spec. Specifically, the Aviator undercuts the Germans by a decent amount. The 2019 BMW X5 starts at $61,695. Mercedes has the redesigned 2020 GLE starting at $56,695. And the Audi Q7 begins at $54,545. Every one of those cars is underpowered compared to the Aviator at those price points. That said, you probably won't want just the base Aviator. Stepping up just one level to the Reserve trim at $57,285 nets you features like a 14-speaker Revel audio system, 360-degree camera and quad-zone climate control. Going up to the pricey Black Label ($78,790), you'll get the 30-way heated/cooled seats, 28-speaker Revel audio system, Panoramic roof and all the fancy materials that go with Lincoln Black Labels. If you tack on every option you can to the high-zoot version, it'll crest $90,000. Lincoln says orders for the new Aviator can be placed in February, and vehicles will be arriving to dealers in the summer. 2020 Lincoln Aviator View 27 Photos Related video:

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.
