This auction is for a 1966 Lincoln Continental Suicide 4 Door Convertible. This is a project car but very worthy of being done. The prior owner had the car for many years. He took it off the road in the early 1990's to do a complete restoration. The motor and transmission were removed to be redone. Somewhere along the line the transmission went missing so everything was put on hold. We do have most of the 462  motor. The block was hot tanked, cleaned and new freeze plugs installed. We have the crank, pistons, cam shaft, both heads, some of the valves and springs, intake and carb, oil pan, starter, power steering unit, etc. I did not see the valve covers. No transmission but we do have the drive shaft. No radiator. The interior in the car is in real decent shape. Dash is amazing, seats are not beat up, just typical light leather cracking. Door panels are in great shape, visors are nice. Even the carpets are decent, just need a good shampooing to get the musty smell out. The convertible top is intact but has shrunk from age and will need to be replaced. The car came optioned with Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel, Power Seat, Power Windows and Power Convertible Top. All the glass is good with the exception of the front windshield which is cracked. The dual exhaust system looks to be in good solid shape also. The body on the car is fairly respectable. Real straight down both sides, doors open and close great, there is some minor rust on the bottom of both front fenders behind the rocker moldings, couple of small spots on the nose, a little behind the rear doors and both lower rear quarters at the very bottoms. Looks like a fairly easy fix. The underside of the car is very solid. Floors, Rockers, frame, braces and trunk pan are all good and solid. Rear opening deck lid and deck flap are solid. Over all, a good basic structure to work with. Make it original ,resto mod ,or make it your own.The motor and all parts are included if you want them. They would all fit in the trunk for shipping. There are a lot of sedans and other big Ford donor vehicles to be had reasonable if you want to go with a different drive line. We have the last Maine registration and proper dealer transfer forms for a smooth transaction. Car can be stored for a reasonable amount of time if you need to make shipping arrangements but car needs to be paid for within 3 days of auctions end. Selling at no reserve so please be serious in your bidding. If you need more info or pics feel free to email or call us at 1-207-324-5568 Days or 1-207-432-2862 Eves and Sundays.

Next Lincoln Navigator to drop V8 in favor of V6, but Ford Expedition might get both

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

A great many buyers fled from full-size body-on-frame SUVs to car-based crossovers in large measure to save fuel. But that doesn't mean there's still not a buying audience for more traditional truck-based utility vehicles, and those consumers doubtlessly wouldn't mind saving some dollars at the pump, too. According to Motor Trend, those shoppers might be in luck.
That's because the magazine has confirmed that Ford isn't walking away from the full-size SUV segment, and it's poised to do something about its offerings' economy ratings, too. According to MT, global Lincoln director Matt VanDyke has hinted that the next Navigator may drop two cylinders and go with a V6 model - the current model gets just 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway from its 5.4-liter V8. The obvious fitment would be Ford's 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, an engine that has spread like kudzu throughout the rest of the Blue Oval's large vehicle lineup.
Downsized turbocharged engines like Ford's EcoBoost franchise have come under fire as of late for not delivering their EPA fuel economy ratings, but their benefits extend beyond consumption - the 3.5L offers superior power and a better torque curve than the naturally aspirated V8. MT also suggests that Ford's 3.7-liter V6 could form the base engine for the next Navi - it has similar horsepower but a lot less torque than the current 5.4L. That may be less of a problem with the next generation tipped to go on a diet, which could level the playing field somewhat.

2015 Lincoln Navigator gets lots of updates, still not all-new [w/video]

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

If there's one brand that could really use some fresh, all-new product, it's Lincoln. The MKC crossover is on the way and looks promising, but the just-revealed 2015 model year update of its fullsize Navigator would appear to stop somewhere short of being "all-new." This, despite replacing a product that's been on the market since 2007. Oh sure, there's a brash new face, complete with the company's love or hate split-wing grille, and the revised rear-end treatment does look better to our eyes (if overly familiar). But in the era of the bold new all-aluminum Ford F-150, the Navigator is still based on the outgoing model's all-steel bones, so it's more of an extensive mid-cycle refresh than a completely new piece.
Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser
That's a shame, really, because the class the Navigator is playing in features a host of really modern, stylish, luxurious crossovers and sport utilities like the Cadillac Escalade, Land Rover Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class and more. Unlike the F-150, there's no aluminum suit on this black-tie bruiser, but that's not to say it isn't bringing some new tech to the table in 2015. Under the hood, for example, is Ford's well-received 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6, putting out "at least" 370 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. That's a solid engine, and should be a whole lot more spunky and efficient than the archaic 5.4-liter Triton V8 currently being employed in the outgoing model.

Ford's Jim Farley hints at Lincoln sales rebound

Thu, 25 Apr 2013

If you're a fan of Lincoln, get ready for "a really great story" come May 1. That's how Ford marketing boss Jim Farley, in a call with analysts, characterized the coming April sales report for the MKZ. At the moment, there are probably few things that the executive VP could want more than a happy ending for the ballyhooed sedan that has made people cry boo-hoo for the past six months.
The massive glass roof of the MKZ is trying to support a burden that would make Atlas tap out, and it hasn't shattered, but it has shown a few cracks. The car we called "a big step in the right direction," the embodiment of the reinvention of the brand and a test of Lincoln's commitment to a new rear-wheel drive offering was given an $8-million dollar Super Bowl ad spend earlier this year, then quality control issues during its assembly scuttled deliveries. Lincoln got over that and kept up the ad blitz, now it just wants the good work to take hold.
If Farley's not leading us on, April could be the month. He said the results (so far) show "the product is being very well-received," inventory is finally where it should be and the MKZ Hybrid is doing better than expected. It bears noting that Lincoln is offering some aggressive incentive programs at the moment, including 0.9-percent APR and $1,000 off for conquest buyers stepping out of competitors' vehicles.
