Selling my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with 4.0 engine and automatic transmission.(also desirable selectrac 4x4) Everything works as it should except AC needs recharging. This Jeep is loaded with every option except moonroof. This is my wifes vehicle and has 95 percent highway miles on it at 215,000. Don't be fooled by the miles as it starts and runs great with no mechanical issues. We are also very meticulous with our maintenance and oil changes were done every 3500 miles. There is not one spot of rust on it either. Interior is also very nice with no stains or rips anywhere(nonsmoker also) Tires(kelly navigators)s have less than 10000 miles on them. Also the headlights have been upgraded with new aftermarket lens as the original ones were starting to cloud over. This would be a great vehicle for as first time driver or student who values safety over getting a few more MPG's out of a cracker box. Great vehicle in the winter. Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Chrysler adding 200 jobs at Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Chrysler is betting that the Jeep Wrangler will continue its strong sales surge as it continues to push the legendary brand out across the globe. The Auburn Hills automaker is reportedly adding 200 workers at the Toledo, Ohio plant that builds the Wrangler. What's more, those new hires will be at their posts quickly - they'll be on the job by April 1. Of those 200 workers, 130 employees will be there to relieve those who need breaks.
Why do they need so many relief workers? The Toledo Jeep Complex is currently working at a torrid pace with two ten-hour shifts. A third shift has been ruled out for the moment because of a production botttleneck - the plant's paint shop is already maxed out. According to Reuters, Wrangler production in 2012 cleared 200,000 units, and US sales were up by 16 percent.
Another part of the Toledo plant is presently down as Chrysler retools the line to build Jeep's divisively styled Liberty replacement, the Cherokee (seen in our gallery below). Production for the new model is scheduled to begin toward the end of May.
