Hello! I am looking to sell my 1999 Honda Accord EX, which has 220,xxx miles on it. Of the last 50,000, about 40,000 have been all highway miles, and I knew the previous owner, and they also put mostly highway mileage on the car.

I tried to highlight the positives of this car and the negatives.

Compare it to all other Accords in this age range and this one stands above the rest!

To give you an idea, I brought it to a local honda dealer and they estimated the trade-in value close to $2,000, and they'd be selling this car for $5,000, so you're getting a good deal here!

I am the second actual owner of this vehicle, as the other two were car lots, and since purchasing it I have invested a lot into the vehicle. I've had mostly everything with the vehicle fixed, and have receipts from professional repair shops with warranties. I have had the brakes, radiator, wheel barrings, new Michelin 80,000 mile tires, belts, pumps, muffler and catalytic converter all fixed, and it runs great!

The only thing it will need is a timing belt replacement within the next 50,000 miles. The clear coat is peeling in some areas, and there is rust along the rear wheel wells, but these are normal for an Accord. The interior is amazing, and the leather is extremely comfortable.

The car runs great, and I know it runs better than most cars with less mileage, because I've done a lot of work to it and have rarely had issues with it. It doesn't burn oil or transmission fluid. The check engine light is on, but I've had Honda look at it as well as an electrical specialist and they both said it's due to a faulty emissions code that cannot be erased without replacing the computer chip.

I am also including my $400 in-dash double din Radio/iPod/DVD touchscreen player, which is incredible. This things handles wonderfully and is an amazing commuter car or for a college student.

The only reason I am looking to sell is I just graduated and am relocating for a job, and bringing this with isn't preferable.

Cash talks. I know it will last another 220,000 miles if you treat it right. Shipping is at your expense. Please feel free to message me or call me with any questions. Thanks!

2016 Honda Civic Coupe First Drive

Mon, Feb 22 2016

[A Honda spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog today that the Honda Civic Coupe equipped with the 2.0-liter engine, which is reviewed below, is not affected by the engine-assembly issue that is at the heart of the stop-sale order currently affecting Civic Sedans. That particular issue was corrected before the Coupe began production. We expect to have more news about a recall involving the 2.0-liter Civic Sedans as soon as the NHTSA officially responds to Honda. - Ed.] Let's not beat around the bush – mechanically, this Honda Civic Coupe is the same as the new-for-2016 sedan, minus a couple of doors. For a lot of consumers, that lack of utility is a big problem, and it's why compact sedan-based coupes are a dying breed. Why spend the same amount of money on a car that drives identically but is less practical? But in the case of the Civic Coupe, we offer this: When a car looks this good, screw logic. The new Civic is one of the most competent vehicles to wear the H-badge in at least a decade. And this new two-door does nearly everything the four-door can do while looking like an absolute stunner. From the A-pillar forward, this is the same reserved but handsome Civic that broke cover in 2015. The new Civic is one of the most competent vehicles to wear the H-badge in at least a decade. Like a mullet (stay with us...), the Civic only gets more interesting as we proceed toward the back. The rear window sits 0.8 inches lower than on the Sedan, but that's only part of what makes the two-door more dramatic. The Coupe is 5.4 inches shorter than the sedan, but all of that is behind the rear axle – the wheelbase is identical. So while the rear window and roofline aren't dramatically lower than the sedan, you just run out of car far more suddenly. The downside, of course, is that you lose three cubic feet of cargo volume, but we think that's a fair price to pay for something that looks this good. Climb inside and feast your eyes on the cabin, which – you guessed it – is essentially exactly the same as what you find in the sedan. The seats get a standard two-tone color scheme and the door panels are ever so slightly different, but that's about it. The big change, of course, is in the backseat, which in this case should really just be reserved for passengers under five feet, five inches. In the video below, you can see your author go from front to back in a Civic Sedan, and then attempt the same feat in the Coupe. It's not pretty.

Honda Builds The Crossover Of Bikes
Here in the land of Harleys and highways that stretch to infinity, Americans don't care much for sensible motorcycles. Unlike the majority of global bike buyers, North Americans tend to choose escape over utility, performance over practicality - that's simply how it's been done in the land of the free, at least until a funny thing happened on the way to the global recession.
As bank balances thinned and fuel prices crept skyward, sales of puffed up sportbikes and cartoonishly endowed cruisers plummeted. Americans rediscovered that motorcycles could be used for tasks like workaday commutes and trips to the grocery store, not just for riding into a Marlboro Man-approved sunset, fringe in tow. As consumers matured, manufacturers slowly responded with bikes better suited for purposeful priorities.

NHTSA opens safety investigations into Toyota, GM and Honda crossovers

Fri, 08 Jun 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is evidently keeping itself very busy these days, as the federal agency has just announced it is launching or renewing investigations into Toyota, Honda and General Motors crossovers.
2006-2008 model year Toyota RAV4 crossovers are under review for allegations of rear tie-rod rust which can result in failure. NHTSA also said it is probing some 35 complaints about 2005 Honda Pilot models with inappropriate activation of the vehicles' stability control system. The alleged malfunction can cause the vehicles to slow down or stop in bad unsafe situations. At the moment, NHTSA is reviewing a petition regarding the Pilot issue, a move that will determine whether it needs to open a full-blown investigation.
In addition, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia three-row crossovers built in 2007-2009 are getting looked at for "loss of low beam headlamp" function. One complainant said the wiring in his Outlook overheated and melted. NHTSA says it has received 415 complaints about the problem and a GM spokesman confirmed that the automaker already started a "Customer Satisfaction Program" in December to address the issue.
