2000 Ford Excursion Xlt Sport Utility 4-door 6.8l on 2040-cars
Woodbridge, Virginia, United States

For sale is our family Ford Excursion (NON SMOKING FAMILY). We drove this vehicle for about 2 full years, daily.. in support our our family restaurant through Summer of 2013. When that business failed, we let some family use it for a few months in North Carolina. We have since brought her back to Va, but have absolutely no time or need to use it.
Engine: Good (perfect!) Brakes: Good Tires: Good Interior: Driver seat has a small tear, but truly not an issue. The whole interior needs cleaned - 4 kids have done their damage and I honestly don't have the time. It will clean up EASILY, and have no weird smells or anything like that! 4 wheel Drive: Good (perfect) All other mechanics, lights, etc... are good except: - Windshield wipers need replaced. - Exhaust Manifold has been replaced with a header, but in areas where there are strict emission laws, a bolt has a small leak - no real parts cost, but labor could cost as much as $350 to make perfect. - Vehicle needs cleaned. It's been sitting under a pollen tree and the interior has been kid tested. I promise you, the back seats will look really good once cleaned. Front just has some wear on them. No reserve. Our family car for a few years, and after a failed restaurant, we just can't afford to hold onto this vehicle no matter how much we'd care to. |

Jay Leno sees how the other half lives with CHP cop cars new and old
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Comedian Jay Leno is changing gears from driving fast cars to checking out some of the police cruisers that regularly chase down and dish out punishment to those fast cars. In this episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we get the lowdown on the modifications made to the Ford Explorer for the Interceptor package (which looks pretty tough in its California Highway Patrol livery).
The new Ford is cool, but cooler still are the pack of classic CHP cars that Jay has along for the episode. A 1982 Mustang, 1966 Dodge Polara, 1970 Mercury Monterey and 2000 Crown Victoria are all in the shop. Better still, Jay lays out an argument for ones of the classic cruisers as the best cop car of all time. Get your guesses in now, and then scroll down to watch and learn.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VI
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
