1986 Ford Bronco Ii Eddie Bauer Sport Utility 2-door 2.9l on 2040-cars
Studio City, California, United States
This truck has regular wear and tear ...
It also has many new parts. I've owned this Bronco about 4 years and really enjoyed it. Recently bought another car and need to sell this for space. I'd keep it myself if I could! Mileage: Not sure - estimating over 220K (The odometer seems to have been broken by previous owner (before I bought it)) Runs great - Overdrive does not engage, but no problems with any other gears. Driver side step. Has tow hitch installed - I used it to haul a utility trailer no problem. It is also lifted 3-4 inches. New: windshield tires battery water pump catalytic converter front fuel pump heater coil alternator/generator belts new plugs points cables back door lock all new within the last year Driver side front seat could use repair or replacing. It leans a little to the right - Comes with (spare) new front seats (not yet installed) Recently passed smog; registered. There a few chips in the custom paint job. The headliner is pretty much gone and the interior is pretty well used. The driver door arm rest is gone because it just got worn out. haven't gotten around to replacing it. The driver side window has stopping issues. It goes up and down fine but it travels too far in it's track so you just have to be careful and not open it too far or keep shutting it hard. The sensor is gone. |

Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).

Ford UK exec says EVs are a good way to lose a fortune
Wed, Mar 19 2014Stateside, Ford execs are quick to point out the automaker's expansion in the plug-in sector. And despite a minimal presence in the pure EV space, the Blue Oval has been promoting its plug-in vehicles as part of an overall effort to boost fleetwide fuel economy. Too bad the company's UK chief didn't get the memo. There's "no point in us getting behind [EVs] and losing a fortune" - Ford's Mark Ovenden Mark Ovenden, speaking rather frankly at the Geneva Motor Show recently, said he didn't have real high hopes for substantial electric-vehicle adoption and said the company's money was better spent on smaller gas- and diesel-powered engines, the UK's Daily Mail says. Ovenden said of EV development that there was "no point in us getting behind it and losing a fortune," adding that his goal was to have variants of Ford's EcoBoost engine in 40 percent of the company's vehicles. Ford has about a 15-percent market share in the UK. The UK doesn't appear to be as kind to the EV as the US. Nissan last year cut the price of its all-electric Leaf there last year by about $4,000, while the company rolled out a promotion for the Leaf late last year, including allowing Leaf drivers to borrow a gas- or diesel-powered Nissan for free for as long as two weeks a year during the first three years of Leaf ownership. In the US, Ford sold just 229 Ford Focus Electrics during the first two months of the year after moving 1,738 units in 2013.
