1966 Ford F250 Camper Special Custom Cab customized shop truck. Original paint on this solid and straight old truck. Equipped with independent front suspension, power steering, power 12" disc breaks and a massive front sway bar thanks to a 1994 Chevrolet Cop Car. The rear end and 700r4 overdrive automatic transmission are also from this donor car. Motor is a good sound 1975 Cadillac 500 with rear sump pan from an Eldorado. This makes the truck drive, corner, handle and stop just like the Caprice Cop Car that donated the parts. The torque monster Cad motor coupled to 700r4 makes for lots of tire smoke and great cruising. Pretty good fuel mileage as well. I put this truck together about 4 years ago and have driven it over 15,000 trouble free miles. Never given me any trouble what so ever. Starts right up even when it was 15 degrees this past winter. Lots of new parts when built. New windshield and gasket, breaks all around. New radiator, hosed and heater hosed. Flushed the gas tank and new fuel lines and fuel pump. New dual exhaust system with glass packs and exit just in front of the rear wheels. New P235/60r15 on new torque thrust polished wheels on front. New P295/50R15 on torque thrust polishes wheels on rear. Front rims are 8" wide and rear are 9". Rear rubber is 10" wide at the thread. The Cad motor will still smoke the tires for 2 blocks if you want. Equipped with a line lock and a B&M torque converter lock up. All the glass is good and wing vents and windows roll up and down as they should. Doors and tail gate all close nice and fit good. All gauges work along with the dome light, horn, door locks and turn signals. Auxiliary fuel tanks in the box have been converted to lockable storage boxes and they work great when filled with ice for cold drinks. They have drain holes in the bottoms. This truck needs nothing. It's ready to go anywhere in the U.S. New seat, door panels, headliner and door pulls. Look at the floor rubber. It is original and still in great shape. XCAR stages epic drag race between Ford GT40, GT70 and GT

XCAR has put together what it believes is a first - a drag race between Ford's legendary, Le Mans-winning GT40, the more recent GT supercar it inspired and the little-known GT70 rally car. The three mid-engined monsters were all built for very different purposes, and not surprisingly, they come to battle with very different powertrains.
The GT40 is powered by a thumping, naturally aspirated V8. This example, which looks like a Mark IV model, is likely powered by a 7.0-liter engine, although it's not entirely clear how much power it's putting down. The GT70, meanwhile, was Ford's response to the Lancia Stratos. Considering that the Lancia is one of the greatest rally cars in history and many of you are probably just hearing of the GT70 for the first time, you can imagine how much success Ford had with it. Only six were produced before a change in regulations doomed this mid-engined rally car.
The Ford GT, meanwhile, doesn't really need an introduction. 550 horsepower is on offer from a 5.4-liter, supercharged V8, which keeps the GT competitive even against more modern supercars. 60 miles per hour arrives in well under four seconds while the top speed sits at 212 mph. Not bad for a car that went out of production in 2006.

Deep discounts — $12K, $13K, $16K — are fueling a pickup price war

Heavy discounts of up to $16,000 per vehicle are fueling a "truck war" among full-size pickups sold in the United States by the Detroit Three, a Reuters analysis shows. Strong U.S. sales this year of the highly profitable big trucks have helped offset lagging passenger car sales. But it is not clear how much of the truck demand is linked directly to ample factory incentives and dealer discounts, or how far sales might decline without those subsidies. A Reuters survey of Ford, General Motors Co's Chevrolet and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's Ram truck dealers across the United States indicates stores are offering deep discounts the country's bestselling full-size pickup trucks. "The walls are not crashing down on full-size trucks," said Sam Fiorani, vice president of global vehicle forecasting at AutoForecast Solutions in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. Detroit-based automakers want to keep cranking out their high-margin trucks, he added, and "giving up a little of the profit is the cheapest way to do it." Stores are offering discounts of up to $12,000 on the 2018 Ford F-150, which remains the best-selling vehicle in the country, recording more than 80,000 sales in May. Discounts run up to $13,000 on the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and as high as $16,000 on the Ram 1500. Average transaction prices for full-size pick-ups range from around $42,000 to $45,000, industry analysts and automakers say. All three companies are spending furiously - GM and Fiat Chrysler to help sell off carryover 2018 trucks to prepare for redesigned 2019 models, and Ford to sustain its long-held sales crown. A supplier fire that temporarily shut down production of the F-150 last month "changed the game," said Jeff Schuster, senior vice president of forecasting at LMC Automotive in Troy, Michigan said. The supply halt nudged Ford's crosstown rivals "to ratchet up incentives on the current models to go after weakness at Ford," he said. Deals advertised on the companies' official websites range from rebates and low-interest loans to ultra-cheap lease rates, but they are not telling the whole story. Ford, for instance, advertises a $2,000 rebate and a $500 financing credit on sales of certain F-150 models. But James Collins Ford in Louisville, Kentucky, is offering discounts of up to $12,215 on the 2018 F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4x4. The price cuts are even steeper at a number of GM and Fiat Chrysler dealers. Quirk Chevrolet is selling the 2018 Silverado 1500 Double Cab at $13,000 off sticker.
