Thanks for looking at this 1939 Ford Pickup.  I am selling this Truck for a friend.  I am writing this description from what I know (I am not an old truck expert) and what he has told me.

This 1939 Ford is original and solid.  The drive train in this Ford is the original Flathead V-8 coupled with the 3 speed manual transmission.  I have driven this Ford around town and the truck runs and drives great.  The seat has been reupholstered and looks very good. The truck has been repainted some years ago and looks good at 10 feet. Close inspection reveals some "crows feet" or "cob webbing" on the hood and top of the fenders.  The paint work is otherwise good and there is not overspray or tape lines (it looks as though it was done by removing all the chrome, glass, trim and instruments etc.).  There does not appear to be any major rust repairs to the sheet metal.  The frame is solid as are the floor pans.  There is a repaired section of metal I noticed that goes from each side of the frame rails under the tail gate.  This truck does leak some oil after it has been driven. The wood floor in the bed has been replaced at some time.  The lights work including the lights in the gauges.  None of the gauges operate and appear not to be hooked up.  I believe this truck to have an optional push button start switch on the dash.  The lights turn on by twisting the center emblem of the steering wheel.  The wiring (for the most part) is the original looking cloth covered wiring.  All the glass is good showing no cracks or delamination.

I am keeping this truck in my garage at home until it sells.

Many of these trucks are being Rat Rodded and Resto Modded and a Ford like this one in its mostly original condition is very rare.  This would make a great truck for a private collection or antique vehicle museum.

I am a independent licensed Kentucky Dealer.  I have no sales or office staff and I keep my overhead low so that I can offer you a better price.  When you call, you will talk to me and only me.

I charge no extra fees.  What you bid or offer is what you pay.  Vehicle is to be paid in full within 7 days of final bid or offer.  I will keep/store vehicle for a longer period of time as agreed and/or needed.

I am a member of Central Dispatch.  I can ship this vehicle Coast to Coast.  Please contact me for a quote. My cost is your cost.

Please feel free to call me with any questions.

Project Ugly Horse: Part VI

Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.

Ford bringing C-Max Solar Energi Concept to CES

Thu, 02 Jan 2014

Solar energy might not be enough to power a usable electric vehicle on its own, but that doesn't mean it can't lend a helping hand. And that's what Ford has in store for the Consumer Electronics Show opening next week in Las Vegas.
Ford has essentially taken its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and fitted it with the latest in solar panel technology developed by SunPower, acting like a magnifying glass to capture as much of the sun's energy as possible. So you get the benefit of an electric vehicle, with the range assurance of a hybrid, without needing to draw from the grid.
Ford estimates that a day of charging in the sunshine will give the C-Max Solar Energi concept the same full charge as the production PHEV, with a total range of 620 miles - 21 of which can be run on electric power alone. Otherwise the vehicle - which remains a concept for the time being - is identical to the existing C-Max Energi. The top-selling model in Ford's growing hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio helps put Ford just behind Toyota among the top seller of hybrids in America. Scope out the images in the gallery above and the video clip and press release below for a closer look.

Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.
