1964 Ford Falcon Convertible on 2040-cars
Mesa, Arizona, United States
This is my 1964 Falcon convertible. It's mine I'm not selling it for any one else. This has been completely restored from the ground up. Everything in new and the car runs and drives perfect. I'll try to list everything. The motor and tranny have been completely rebuilt. The motor is a 289 out of a 1964 fairlane .030 over and all new components with rv cam. Tranny is a 1964 C4 from a Mustang also completely gone through and shift kit installed. Aluminum radiator, front disc rear drum brakes, all new bushings and weather strip every where. The console is out of a 63 falcon. The top is brand new with hydraulic motor. I had it installed 6-03-2014 for the purpose of selling it. I didn't need a top because I only drive it on the weekend during the winter here in Az. when the weather is beautiful. There is a small chip in front glass 1/4 of an inch long see pic. Also the hood scoop has a small repair on the back side see pic. If reserve is met I'll pull the scoop and have it completely reshot. The repair is not easily noticed unless you know where to look. The car has been restored for almost two years and has just over 700 miles on it. It is an Arizona car with Zero rust. Everything works perfect. Power antenna, CD player hidden in glove box with aux. cord in the console. Bazooka bass tube in trunk. The color is House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl and looks like it on fire in the sun. This is an absolutely beautiful car and draws a crowd every time I take it out. If you have any other questions let me know and I'll answer them as soon as possible.Clean Arizona Title. Thanks.

Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally lands on Google board
Wed, 16 Jul 2014Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally often referred to the Blue Oval as a technology company when he led the automaker. Now he'll be offering guidance to a different kind of technology firm: Google.
Mulally was appointed to Google's board of directors July 9, and late Tuesday, it was announced that he will serve on the company's audit committee. The veteran executive led Ford from September 2006 until he retired in June, succeeded by Mark Fields.
While Mulally will act as a board member - rather than in a managerial role - his presence adds credibility to Google's recently announced plans to produce an autonomous car. The ambitious program calls for 100 prototypes to begin testing later this summer. Production of the car is rumored to be in collaboration with a Detroit area performance company, Roush.
Ford Escort returns... as a concept
Sat, 20 Apr 2013Ford is kickin' it old school at the Shanghai Motor Show for 2013 with a new Escort Concept - "a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design" as we said in our initial preview of the small C-segment sedan. Or, as Ford puts it, "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Potato, potahto...
It's an interesting amalgam of design notes with Ford's recent and stylish hexagonal grille up front, flanked by some pretty busy LED light clusters and chrome-trimmed air intakes at the lower extremities of the fascia, but the Escort Concept is not altogether unattractive. Besides its external appearance, we really don't have much information to report - Ford has not yet hinted at what may be powering this little machine, but we'd expect something with four cylinders and less that 2.0 liters of displacement sending a modest number of horses to the front tires.
It probably goes without saying, but we don't expect to see this Escort make its way to the United States, since we already have the Focus and the Fiesta battling it out in the econobox segment. That said, it's very likely to spawn a production model that will roll out here in China and in other developing market where multiple C-segment entries are becoming increasingly common. Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
