If you are in the market for a one of a kind custom Bronco that's a true head-turner look no further.  This "68" half cab is one of the most fun rides I've owned; a perfect blend of classic nostalgia and modern styling.  Black and beautiful the Bronco rides, drives, handles, and looks better than it did the day it rolled off the showroom floor.  Powered by a Cropper Racing 383 chevy small block (Chevrolet engine; my power-plant of choice); performs flawless and sounds incredible through the Flowmaster super 44 mufflers.  Engine dyno results were 468 hp 502tq @ 5500rpm and is built with Eagle rotating assembly topped off with Brodix aluminum heads and MSD ignition. Transmission and transfer case are Ford (bulldog) 4 speed and stock Bronco transfer case.  The body started solid and was transformed into the lazer straight black panels you see pictured with billet accents and all new hardware and Smitty Built bumpers.  The interior floor has been Rhino-Lined and fitted with new custom off-road seats; dash has been smoothed and fitted with billet insert and Autometer gauges, Ididit column and Lecarra thick grip wheel, a Tuffy console houses a Pioneer stereo and JL marine speakers.  Complete wiring harness has been replaced with Cenco wiring kit; high performance lighting and LED tail lamps.   Lifted with Wildhorses premium 5-1/2" lift kit (adjustable track bar) and disc/power brake conversion; Fuel 18" wheels wrapped in 35" Mickey Thompson MTZ's complete the madness!     I really can't list in detail everything that has been done to this thing; it's pretty incredible.  I have thousands of dollars in receipts and countless hours involved with the build; you honestly can't build it for what you can buy it for!  Please message with questions; I'll be glad to provide a number for serious inquiries to reach me and discuss details.

A few additional details:

This is a first come first serve kind of business:  As always: The Bronco is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime due to local sale.

Since this was built with no plans of ever seeing bad weather the heater and wiper motors have been deleted, but are included and can be installed; all required wiring is there to install.

All gauges work, but the fuel gauge and speedometer are not calibrated.

Buyer responsible for all shipping charges and arrangements; I will assist in anyway possible with the pick-up and preparation.

Payment must be received within 7 days of auction end (I do not accept Paypal for large transactions such as this; cashiers check, money wire, or cash are the only methods of payment; payment must clear prior to vehicle shipment.  ***If you haven't asked your wife yet; please do so before bidding!***

THANK YOU

Ford recalls 422,000 SUVs for rear view camera display that may fail

Thu, May 18 2023

WASHINGTON — Ford is recalling 422,000 sport utility vehicles in the U.S. because the video output may fail, preventing the rear view camera image from displaying. The recall covers 2020 through 2023 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair SUVs with a 360-degree camera. The recall expands and replaces prior Ford callbacks for the same issue in 2021 and 2023. Ford last year updated the image processing module (IPMB) software in an effort to address the issue. Ford said on Thursday it is "working together with suppliers to identify root cause and provide the correct remedy as quickly as possible". The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said the loss of the rear view camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 26. Last year, Ford said it had reports of 17 minor crashes relating to the recall issue and more than 2,100 warranty reports but no reports of injuries. The NHTSA in August 2021 opened an investigation after Ford in 2020 recalled 620,246 vehicles for another rear camera issue. The investigation is reviewing if Ford had recalled the vehicles in a timely fashion and if it recalled enough vehicles. Recalls Ford Lincoln Crossover SUV

Detroit Three autoworkers could get huge bonuses

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

For a long time, being a line worker for one of the Detroit Three has meant living with an uncertain future. With the health of American automakers on the rise, though, things are also starting to look up for the men and women building the cars. The latest sign that things aren't bad? Big profit-sharing checks.
According to The Detroit News, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler could end up paying over $800 million to 130,000 workers as part of a profit-sharing plan. According to The News, the economic impact of these profits in Michigan alone could exceed $400 million, besting the NFL's Super Bowl, MLB's All-Star Game and the NHL's Winter Classic for their economic impact.
This is the third straight year the Detroit Three have issued profit-sharing checks to UAW employees, and for many workers, the checks are as close as they'll get to a raise, due to the most recent contract between the union and the manufacturers. On average, employees at GM and Ford receive $1 for every $1 million in North American (not just the US) pre-tax profits. Chrysler, meanwhile, gets a similar deal, although the Auburn Hills-based company calculates profit sharing using 85 percent of the brand's global profits.

Junkyard Gem: 1973 Mercury Marquis Brougham 4-Door Pillared Hardtop

Tue, Nov 7 2023

Ford's Mercury Division debuted the Marquis in the 1967 model year, as a sporty coupe based on a stretched Ford LTD chassis. When the LTD got an update for 1969, so did the Marquis, and production of that generation of the top-of-the-line Mercury continued through 1978 (the Grand Marquis hit streets the following year). The 1969-1978 Marquis was a big, imposing land yacht, and the Brougham version came absolutely loaded with affordable luxury. Today's Junkyard Gem is a Marquis Brougham from the first year of the Malaise Era, found in a Phoenix self-service car graveyard recently. This car appears to have spent decades sitting outdoors in one of the harshest climates in the country, and so it's in rough shape. The vinyl top received the full thermonuclear treatment and is mostly obliterated by now. The interior got thoroughly cooked as well. Still, its original opulence shines through if you use some imagination. What hurts is that this car was packed with most of the good options, including the mighty 460-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 engine with four-barrel carburetor. The price for the 460 was just $76 in this car, or around $548 in today's money. The base engine was a 429 (7.0-liter). Power numbers were way down for 1973 when compared to a couple of years earlier, partly as the result of tightening emissions standards but mostly due to the switch from gross to net power ratings that began midway during 1971 and was completed by the end of 1972. This engine was rated at 202 horsepower and 330 pound-feet. The only transmission available was a three-speed automatic. We can assume that the original buyer of this car and its single-digit fuel economy had a rough time when the OPEC oil embargo hit in the fall of 1973. Believe it or not, air conditioning was not standard equipment on the '73 Marquis Brougham (you had to move up to a Lincoln for that). This one even has the automatic temperature control feature, adding a total of $508 to the cost of this car (about $3,661 in 2023 dollars). That AM/FM/8-track radio—or, in fact, any radio—was an extra-cost option as well, with a price tag of $363 ($2,616 after inflation). The MSRP for the 1973 Marquis Brougham sedan (known as a "pillared hardtop" thanks to the frameless window glass) was $5,072, which comes to $36,555 in today's dollars. Obviously, its out-the-door cost would have been much higher with all the options.
