Up for sale is my custom built 1992 Dodge Cummins Crew cab. It started out as an extended cab long bed truck. In
2001 it was stripped down to the bare frame to begin the build to make it into a crew cab. The chassis was
stretched and reinforced. The cab came from a 1980 forest service truck from California. It was sand blasted down
to bare metal to make sure there was no rust anywhere. The cab and rear doors are from the 1980 truck. Everything
else is 1992. It is titled and vin'd as a 1992. All the 92 interior was installed, along with power seats from a
Ford super duty. The center console is a locking unit from Tuffy. Everything is power, including the rear doors.
During the build a power sunroof from a Mercedes was installed. It does not leak at all. Never has. The truck is
100% rust free. Not a spot anywhere. It has Buckstop bumpers front and rear. I have the brush guard, but it is not
currently installed. Right after the truck was built it was photographed for Buckstops website. I have included
some of those photos. The photos of the truck with the original bed are old photos. I no longer have the bed for
the truck.
The engine is a 12 valve Cummins turbo diesel and the transmission is a 5 speed manual Getrag. It has a Dana 60
front with Chevy crossover steering, and the rear is a disc brake Dana 80 from a 2001 Ram. It has 3.55 gears. Last
fall all the u-joints and brakes were replaced. Clutch is in good shape and everything works flawlessly. It has a
4" lift with near new 35" BFG all terrains on 16.5" aluminum wheels.
Last fall the original engine was replaced with one that had fewer miles. The new engine has 120k, and before it
was installed it got a bunch of new gaskets replaced, the killer dowel pin fixed and new main seals. I also had new
75 hp injectors, and a new Holset HX35 turbo installed at that time. Other than those two items, the engine is
stock. The truck has driven about 2500 miles since all this work was done.
As far as extras, the truck has a straight pipe exhaust, a Pacbrake exhaust brake, onboard air compressor and rear
airbags with controls and gauge inside the cab. The bed has a hidden gooseneck hitch. The bed surface is Trex deck
and it's seen some use. The truck was built for work. The bed was originally built to dump, and still could if a
hydraulic cylinder were to be installed. All the original bed mounts are still there, so putting a factory bed back
on it would be an easy thing to do.
On to the bad. The clearcoat is starting to peel in a few places, mainly on the hood. I did my best to show it in
the pictures. There is one spot of minor damage in the front passenger corner by the bumper where the truck hooked
a fence post. It has minor scratches here and there, but no major damage. Its never been wrecked or in any kind of
accident. Mechanically there are only 2 things wrong with this truck. The cruise control does not work, and the
speedometer bounces around. I'm pretty sure it needs a new cable. It just turned 200k, but with the speedo acting
up, the actual mileage is around 210k.

Watch these Dodge Demons explode on a Texas drag strip

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is extremely quick. It can hit 60 mph from a dead stop in less time than it takes to read this sentence thanks to its supercharged 6.2-liter V8. That engine makes up to 840 horsepower and 770 pound-feet of torque, depending on what octane is running through the fuel lines. That's a ton of power going solely to the rear wheels. So much so that Dodge developed a number of features and a new set of tires specifically for the car. In our time with the Demon, the car took abuse run after run on a drag strip without skipping a beat, but it seems some actual owners aren't quite so lucky. Just take a look at what happened to a few of these cars. You can see the whole car shake and jitter right as the whole rear explodes in front of the tree. It seems the initial shock from the launch — the most taxing bit of any drag run Â— is what kills the differentials. Catastrophic failure is rarely pretty, but it is neat to see the whole thing occur in slow motion. Three more cars Â— four stock and one modified in total Â— suffered similar fates. Not a great look for Dodge or SRT. According to The Drive, a private drag event in Texas drew a number of Demon owners all trying to beat NHRA NHRA Top Fuel racer Leah Pritchett's time in her personal Dodge Demon Â— 42 stock Demons attended along with five modified cars. While no one managed to match her 9.65-second quarter-mile run, a few owners did dip below 10 seconds. Now, there are a few of caveats we must address. First, with any modified car, you run the risk of breaking something, even with a car that's set up from stock specifically for drag strips. Even a set of tires like the Mickey Thompsons shown in the video above can have an effect on driveline components. Horsepower may be king, but it's torque that's the rear killer. All that torque sends a shock through the car. Adding even more with aftermarket parts increases the risk of something failing. The modified car was apparently pushing out about 1,000 horsepower. That said, four of the five vehicles were stock, so any extra power or torque should theoretically be a non-factor. The drag strip's surface was maintained by a company called Mass Traction. FCA used Mass Traction during the Demon's development, so that too should be a non-factor in the part's failure. It's unclear what exactly caused the failures, though The Drive reports that FCA officials are investigating the matter. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.

2014 Dodge Dart Blacktop glosses over performance

The Dodge Dart is a decent little car. It's honest, basic transportation, and many of us at Autoblog are genuinely fond of the Alfa Romeo-based compact sedan. For 2014, not a whole lot changes in the Dart world, save the addition of this new Blacktop edition that makes its debut here at the Detroit Auto Show.
It's all very simple, this Blacktop package, and doesn't actually alter performance in any way. Instead, buyers are treated to blacked-out exterior bits like 18-inch wheels, the crosshair grille and headlamp bezels. Inside, black/tungsten or black/red cloth seats are available, with red contrast stitching throughout the cabin.
Adding the Blacktop pack to your Dart SXT with the Rallye Appearance Group will set you back a scant $295, and while it's just an appearance package, it all looks pretty nice to us.

How Dodge is making sure dealers don't gouge Demon buyers

The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is a ridiculous 840-horsepower, limited-production machine that we're sure many are eager to purchase. But, they're probably not excited at the prospect of the massive dealer markups that accompany rare, high-performance cars. Fortunately, Dodge is taking steps to make sure buyers aren't paying thousands of dollars extra to get a car early, and its main method is production priority. Dodge announced that cars purchased at or below the MSRP of $86,090 will be the first ones the company builds and delivers. If a dealer sells an allocated car for more than the sticker price, that car won't be built until the high-priority vehicles have been. Dodge will also ensure fair distribution of the 3,000 Demons it will build by limiting the number of orders a dealer can submit. Dealers will be allocated a certain number of cars, and the amount will be based on how many Challenger and Charger Hellcats the dealer has sold. This should also help prevent dealers from hoarding cars and slapping sky-high prices on them. Also, the fact that every Demon comes with a number plate with the buyers' name on it should help prevent dealers from buying cars for the lot to mark up. In addition to revealing these measures, Dodge announced that buyers will be able to submit an order for a Demon at an eligible dealer tomorrow, June 21. The only dealers eligible for Demon ordering are those that have sold more than one Hellcat in the past 12 months. Cars will begin production this summer, and deliveries will begin in the fall.
