Lifted Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4x4 on 2040-cars
Greenville, South Carolina, United States
|
Up for sale is my lifted Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The truck has 118,000 miles. The truck is in excellent condition and runs like a champ; it has a lot of power. I purchased the Silverado with 108,000 miles (in 2012); I have only put 10,000 miles on the truck since I purchased it. During this timeframe, the truck has been serviced every 3,000 miles by the local Chevy Dealership (maintenance records are available). The truck is a non-smoker. The truck DOES have an existing warranty, but I'm not sure if the warranty will transfer to the new owner or not. I purchased the Silverado for towing and hunting purposes. I have towed my dad's trailer and tractor for planting food plots in different areas with no problems at all. Flow Master Dual Exhaust System More pictures will be posted soon. Thanks for looking! |

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow
Thu, 14 Feb 2013After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.
