Offered is a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LT, equipped with a 3.9L V6 SFI. This Chevrolet has 106,258 miles and is being sold, as is, with NO RESERVE so we do not have to re-list. This Chevrolet is being auctioned by the Woodridge Illinois Police Department. This vehicle was purchased new in July, 2008, and used by our command staff until a replacement vehicle arrived earlier this year. We no longer have use for this Chevrolet. While this vehicle was in service, it was equipped with some emergency lights and radios. This equipment has since been removed but there are some holes/plugs where this equipment had been mounted (see photos). While the Chevrolet was in service, it received regular maintenance/repairs as performed by our Village of Woodridge mechanics and outside contractors.

We will attempt to describe this vehicle to the best of our ability and you may inspect the vehicle, in person, by appointment.

The body/paint shows wear and has some scratches in the paint. There is a plug in the trunk lid where an antenna had been mounted. See photos.

The interior is dirty but in good condition. See photos.

The Chevrolet accelerates handles and stops as expected for a vehicle of this age and the air conditioner blows cold. When the Chevrolet is first started, and the blower is on, there is a rattling noise that comes from the passenger side of the dashboard that eventually goes away.

The NADA listed value for this 2008 Chevrolet Impala LT is $4,950 for "Rough Trade-In", $6,175 for "Average Trade-In" and $7,200 for "Clean Trade-In". We would place this vehicle in the “Average” category but it is always recommended that you inspect the vehicle and make your own assessments before bidding.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. EcoCar3 will convert Camaro to bitchin' eco rides

In the 47-year-history of the Chevrolet Camaro, there have been countless college-age kids spending a ton of time getting under the hood and souping 'em up. Now, General Motors is adding a twist to the concept by donating 16 Camaros for the EcoCar challenge that puts university teams together to wring out better fuel-efficiency out of various vehicles. No word on whether there will be donuts on anyone's lawn, as suggested by 80's punks the Dead Milkmen, but the idea's never a bad one. EcoCar3 will feature 16 teams such as Arizona State, Penn State, Ontario's University of Waterloo and, of course, Detroit's Wayne State University. They'll spend the next four years "[reducing] environmental impact, while maintaining the muscle and performance expected from this iconic American car," as the EcoCar organizers say. The goal is to maintain body design and safety standards while boosting efficiency and lowering emissions, but the actual process is far more complicated than that description suggests. The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bosch are among the sponsors of the contest, which is also put on by the US Department of Energy and managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Penn State won Year Two of the three-year EcoCar 2 competition with its E85 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle converted out of a Chevy Malibu.
