Very Nice 82 Charcoal Vette. Last Classic Shark Body, No Reserve!! on 2040-cars

Here is my very nice 82 Corvette for a short auction. So dont miss out. A very nice car at a No Reserve auction. The winner will like the new paint and interior. Its done very nicely. (Not a 10 footer) like so many others. The paint is the original color in base/clear coat. Lots of hand sanding and no body work. Nice straight car. Very nice and clean underneath too. I have had tons of compliments on the car. While its not a show car, it would look right at home there. It has the original crossfire fuel injected engine and it runs strong. Last summer the computer went out. I had it replaced along with new plugs, wires, dist parts and 3 new sensors. It took almost two grand in parts and labor. The exhaust is great, and not noisy. The tires are very good and the wheels are nice. Heater works great, but even though everything is in place, the A/C doesnt work. Never persued it because i only drive it with the T-Tops off. I just took it out of storage and everything is working good. Headlights open and close, power windows go up and down too. The fuel guage quit working but im sure its the sending unit. I had a new fuel pump put in and the guage only worked from half to full after that. The good thing is, the sender comes right out the top of the tank, so its an easy fix. The tires might need balancing, but im not sure. On the highway i noticed a slight shake in the steering wheel at around 62 mph. Comes and goes. I cant imagine its anything else. Or maybe it just hasnt been driven enough. It has sat for almost 9 months. Anyway, the car can be driven and enjoyed while these fixes are done over time. The interior is great and has new seat covers, new carpet and cd stereo. Door panels are nice too. I love driving this car around town and it gets lots of looks. If it doesnt sell, no biggie. I will just drive it when i can. Im giving all the details i can so there are no surprizes like I have gotten over the years with cars i bought. But please remember, even though this is a beautiful car that is fun to drive. Its 32 years young and needs some love. Bid with confidence that this is a great car at a very low starting price. Come and get it and drive it home or ship it at your expense. I will do all I can to make sure the hauler gets it loaded and on its way. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION AT ANY TIME. CAR IS LISTED LOCALLY. Thanks so much and good luck!....................By the way, sorry about the pictures. I can't turn them. I will try to up load a video if I can. Someone asked about scratches, and there are none, and no spiderweb. That was all sanded out. Body is ver smooth. The front and rear bumpers are perfect. Thanks all!!!

2016 Chevrolet Volt First Drive
Fri, Oct 2 2015There's a hit vehicle hiding in GM's formula for the Chevy Volt. You can sense it in the enthusiasm that current Volt drivers have for their cars. You can see it in the amount of money GM has poured into its extended-range electric vehicle project. And perhaps most importantly, you can feel it from the driver's seat of the new, second-gen model. The big question is whether or not GM will be able to turn its much-hyped 'halo car' into a best-seller this time around. After driving it in northern California, I can tell you that the Volt is tremendous. But we all know it takes more than that to create a hit. GM has so far sold over 82,000 Volts in the US. That's respectable, but in the early, glory days before the car launched, company representatives were talking about much more impressive numbers. With a few years to talk to customers and potential prospects, GM has learned a lot about what makes someone buy a Volt. For the 2016 model, Chevy has changed just about everything for the better. The new Volt has more all-electric range (53 miles vs. 38 in the first generation), is more fuel efficient whether you're looking at the overall value (106 combined MPGe vs. 98) or just when the car burns gas (42 miles per gallon vs. 37). All of that means that the car's overall range is bumped up to 420 miles, from 380. The battery is smaller and lighter while offering more energy capacity. The range-extending gas engine is bigger (1.5 liters vs. 1.4) but it's also more efficient and can burn regular gasoline instead of just premium. The Volt's overall range is bumped up to 420 miles, from 380. The cost is lower, too: $33,995 vs. $34,170, before incentives. This is a car that GM thinks will compete against the Toyota Priuses and Nissan Leafs of the world (as its new ads make abundantly clear). All three cars have completely different powertrains, but we all know that they're the headline green cars of our time (along with Tesla), so buyers will have to want to pony up a bit more money if they like what the Volt is offering. The 2016 Leaf with its 107-mile range starts at $37,640 (before incentives), while a 2015 Prius can be had for $25,035 (pricing for the 2016 has not yet been announced). So, on paper, the new Volt is an all-around winner. I'm here to tell you that it wins on the road, too. You can't help but notice the changes. They are literally front and center.
Where the 2023 GMC Sierra AT4X fits into the hierarchy of off-road trucks
Fri, Oct 22 2021The world of off-road pickups sure seems like it's getting crowded, but the reality is that half-ton trucks were always pretty capable, even with what seemed like fairly basic 4x4 packages. It wasn't until recently that manufacturers really started to carve out different off-road niches for their mainstream pickup offerings. With the introduction of the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X (alongside its mechanical twin, the Chevy Silverado ZR2), the crowd has grown even thicker. Even we have trouble keeping up with the increased segmentation of off-road pickup trucks, so we threw together this handy guide to help you understand just where these various packages fit into the broader pickup hierarchy. Let's dive in. Your basics If we say "Z71" or "FX4" to you, both will probably ring a bell. That's because they've been around a few days short of forever and their respective customers have grown so used to these package codes that OEMs got into the habit of just plastering them on the side of so-equipped truck beds. Anybody who sells a pickup truck offers some sort of basic off-road prep package like this one. Z71 is found on GM vehicles; FX4 is Ford's. Ram just calls it "Off Road Group," but no matter what you call them, they're all pretty similar. Typical upgrades for this category include some additional ground clearance, a basic all-terrain tire, heavy-duty suspension upgrades and likely either a limited-slip or locking rear differential. These are pretty handy for anything beyond a rutted dirt road. On newer trucks — especially on higher trim levels — you'll probably also get some dedicated off-road drive modes. Mid-range This is where things start to get interesting. To qualify for this category, a locking rear differential is a must. Most of the names in this segment are well-established too, though some (Nissan Titan Pro-4X, anyone?) may not necessarily be on your radar. The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro checks in here, as does the Ram Rebel, Chevy Silverado Trail Boss and GMC Sierra AT4 (no X!). Realistically, if there's somewhere you need to go and one of these trucks won't do it, you might want to consider a helicopter. But it's 2021, and our thirst for capability is strong, so of course, there's a way to spend more of your money on this type of thing. Onward! Entry-hardcore Here we are, the home of the new 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X and Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. This is a tiny niche, otherwise occupied only by the Ford F-150 Tremor.
