Up for sale in El Paso,Texas is this true1970 Chevelle ss.This is a very nice car. It runs and drives very nice! It is a factory automatic vinyl top car with power steering and power disc brakes. I am amazed at how nice this car runs. I own other classic cars, but this Chevelle runs better than all of them ! The steering is great and this car runs straight and true. The suspension has been redone including the rear coil springs. Both the front and rear shocks are new as well. It has a new master cylinder, and new disc pads. This car stops on a dime. The interior on the car is in real good condition for its age. The door panels, headliner and carpet are original. The dash is also original and has never been cut out to upgrade the stereo. The seats and carpet do need attention. I think once that is taken care of, the interior will look good as new. The electrical system on this car is in great shape as well. All the headlights, turn signals, brake lights, dash lights, interior dome light, trunk light and reverse lights work!!! The horn works as well. The gauge cluster is also in good working order. The best part of this is that it is original !!! One important topic to discuss are the floors and trunk area on this car. It is in very solid shape for its age. It had been undercoated years ago, and that actually saved this car from rusting ! Some of this old undercoat is still under the car. I started removing it,but have not had the chance to sand blast and add new undercoat. This is why I call this Chevelle a survivor, and it holds true to this name. Now i know on the rear passenger quarter panel i did find a rust spot. Its not bad, but will need to be fixed. Over all, Its a solid car. The exterior of the car is a gun metal gray. This car was originally silver. I bought this car with this paint job on it. I did plan to re-paint the car the original silver with the black stripes but never got the chance to do so. The paint job on this car is driver quality. It is not a show car paint job, but you can enjoy the car as it is and not have to worry about dings and scratches like you would if it was a show car ! The door and quarter windows roll up and down great. They are soft and smooth. The grill, bumpers and stainless are original and look pretty nice for its age. The doors ,trunk and hood are aligned really nice as well. This chevelle has a 350 010 block with headers, flowmaster exhaust, msd ignition, edelbrock intake and a holley 4 barrel carburetor. The engine is nicely detailed in chrome. It has the original th400 automatic transmission and the original 12 bolt differential. The Chevelle does not have the original big block. It got lost over the years. This is your chance to buy a real ss that does not need much.It is not a fully restored car. It is a quality driver. They are one of the most sought after muscle cars in the world. I will admit to you that I do not want to sell my baby, but I purchased a new home and my priority's have changed. You are more than welcome to ask any questions you may have. I can be reached at 915-630-2034. You are more than welcome to have Ebay inspect this vehicle. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due upfront. This car is sold in as is condition with no warranty or refund. This is a great opportunity for you to own a REAL SS CHEVELLE !!!! Again, any questions will be answered at 915-630-2034. Ask for Jacob. Thank you so much for looking and good luck !!!!

Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space

Tue, Aug 5 2014

In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. Read more at the Portland Business Journal. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee parks like an idiot, or rather, his security detail does. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry. NHTSA approves hybrid rearview mirror display in Cadillac CT6, Bolt EV

Tue, Feb 23 2016

The Chevy Bolt EV prototype doesn't just have a fancy new all-electric powertrain. Just outside the driver's line of sight is a newfangled rearview mirror, one that can turn into a screen that shows a moving image from the rear-facing camera. Speaking to NPR's Robert Siegel yesterday, Department of Transportation secretary Anthony Foxx said that NHTSA has now approved this type of mirror/screen for use in vehicles. According to a letter from NHTSA to General Motors, GM will likely use this Full Display Mirror first in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 before coming to the Bolt. In its letter to GM, NHTSA said that the Full Display Mirror will only qualify as a standard rearview mirror as long as there are normal side mirrors in place. In other words, don't expect to see cameras and screens replacing all the mirrors in a motor vehicle just yet. @AutoblogGreen @NPR - #NHTSA has OK'd GM rear-view system that can switch between mirror & camera views. pic.twitter.com/6CBeIit10v — Anthony Foxx (@SecretaryFoxx) February 22, 2016 The Full Display Mirror was developed by Gentex, which has long worked with GM. The FDM debuted in 2014 and some people hoped it would also make its way into the Tesla Model X. Gentex, which also makes auto-dimming mirrors, says that it has "set out to develop the technologies and core competencies necessary to manage this evolution of the rearview mirror." The Chevy Bolt EV will start at $37,500, before incentives. The 200-mile EV will go into production late this year for likely sale in early 2017. Related Video:

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
